Dawn Staley thinks Geno Auriemma was upset because the coaches didn't shake hands pregame. But there is a photo of the two shaking hands 👀 🐸☕️

I have been around basketball all of my life, and I have NEVER seen a coach do what UCONN Coach Geno Auriemma just did to South Carolina Coach Dawn Staley after his team lost tonight's Final Four. He literally had to be pulled away from her. What an embarrassment! It's bad enough he had a fit during the sideline interview after the third quarter. I am no South Carolina fan, but I have always been "Anybody But UCONN," and if you saw what Geno did tonight, you know why, and you might even understand the friction between the late Coach Pat Summitt and Geno back in the day. Poor example as the entire nation watched and, most importantly, his own players. I hope he wakes up in the morning and gives Dawn a call--right before apologizing to his players, his staff, and his institution. Wow.

Dawn Staley shook hands pregame. But let’s call it what it is. She won 3 Olympic Gold Medals as a player. She never gives pregame ‘hugs’. I played against her. Evil eye all the way. She hates her opponent. But she’s always of integrity. Wild that she got in Geno’s head.

Geno Auriemma lied about the pregame handshake, lied about Sarah Strong jersey and tried to call Dawn everything but her name. Unbelievable

It looked like UConn might just have That team this year. Dawn Staley and her squad politely but firmly said “nah.”

Please stop saying Dawn Staley "crashed out" on Geno Auriemma. It's clear on the video that UConn's HC stated something first, & tried to walk off the court as if he didn't. Staley confirmed in her interview Auriemma "initiated" the exchange. Congrats South Carolina on the win.
