Shameless, bigoted liar and misinformation superspreader Rupert Lowe has claimed that Reform UK is standing a Zimbabwean candidate. The person he is referring to is Addy Mo Asaduzzaman, a Bangladeshi national with indefinite leave to remain. Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa with a population of about 16 million, while Bangladesh is in South Asia with a population of around 170 million. The two countries are roughly 5,000 miles apart. Being sent away from home at an early age to board at one of the most expensive all-boys schools on earth clearly failed Lowe in some pretty basic education. Lowe’s promise to “ban all foreign nationals” from standing or voting in British elections has no realistic chance of being implemented. No major party supports the idea. Like most of the bigoted, ill-informed, misleading bullshit he pukes out daily to his army of cowardly, anonymous racists, neo-Nazis, Britain-hating foreigners, bots, and gullible, bootlicking fools apparently devoid of critical thinking skills, it’s just another one of his simplistic, divisive promises that is essentially impossible for the sad old bigot to deliver. Anyone can promise anything: vote for me and I’ll eradicate war and poverty overnight, give you £10 BILLION, and ban anyone with a net worth of over £1 million or who was educated at a fee-paying school from owning any media platforms or standing in elections. Lowe has a consistent record of dismissing or undermining mainstream climate science. He has described climate change as a “cult” and questioned whether there is definitive scientific evidence behind it, despite the well-established scientific consensus, referring to climate experts in sceptical terms and portraying their conclusions as unproven or exaggerated. Despite this, Lowe has a financial and practical stake in green energy, including ownership interests in heat pump and battery storage companies (Alto Energy and Kona Energy), and has installed solar panels on his farm. Bullshit, lies, and hypocrisy are easy. Integrity and realistic solutions to complex problems are hard. The likes of Lowe, Farage, Murdoch, Harmsworth, Marshall, and Trump much prefer the former. Lowe has received backing from ethnonationalist figures such as Steve Laws, as well as individuals linked to neo-Nazi networks. These include activists connected to Patriotic Alternative, led by Mark Collett, and the Homeland Party, founded by Kenny Smith. Other supporters include Michael Wright (aka Morgoth), a fascist social media influencer whose work was referenced by white-supremacist terrorist Dylann Roof. Sam Wilkes (aka Zoomer Historian) has also voiced support for Restore despite being openly pro-Nazi. The leaders of Britain First, another far-right political party, have agreed to defer to Restore in areas where it chooses to field candidates. Another Lowe supporter is Callum Barker, best known for his role in the anti-migrant campaign in Epping last year. Barker is also a former member of Patriotic Alternative, the UK’s largest neo-Nazi group, and has posed with a copy of the manifesto of Ted Kaczynski (aka The Unabomber), the American terrorist who murdered three people and maimed many more in a 17-year bombing campaign. “It’s time for all boots on the ground for Restore Britain,” wrote Barker following the party’s announcement to field candidates in Great Yarmouth this May. Barker’s associates, “Angloid” and Hugh Anthony, both young ethnonationalists campaigning for an all-white Britain, are also now involved in Restore. Angloid rose to infamy last year as part of Raise the Colours, joining the group on trips to Calais to harass people seeking asylum and the charity workers supporting them. He was later banned from entering France. Anthony has argued aggressively against interracial marriage and promotes the “remigration” of non-white people living in England, a policy he extends to British Jews. I am not aware that Lowe has done or said anything to distance himself from these damaged, radicalised idiots. Perhaps most concerning is the support expressed for Lowe and Restore Britain by Aryan Front, a militant neo-Nazi group which splintered from White Vanguard last December. The group, which promises “Racial Holy War,” recently burned Islamic and Jewish literature on a swastika altar while throwing Hitler salutes. In the weeks following Restore’s establishment as a political party, Aryan Front said: “If you have the slightest bit of racial loyalty, you will vote Restore.” Days later, the group echoed a view shared by many neo-Nazis: Restore is “going to be normalising more of our talking points… take the win where you can get it.” This is PRECISELY what Professor Ruth Wodak refers to as “the shameless normalization of far-right discourse.” Rupert Lowe is a disgusting and dangerously irresponsible old bigot, clearly modelling himself on another grotesquely wealthy, privately educated bigot, Oswald Mosley.
