Re the Transfer Portal: We don’t talk enough about G5 staffs who took a chance on the kid nobody wanted. They didn’t just coach him—they raised him, investing their souls in his growth. Only for him to trash that investment for a check. ​We've traded Mentorship for Monetization.

You watch your G5 program develop a guy. He balls out. Then a P4 waves life-changing money and he's gone. It's frustrating. But the mindset has shifted. Secure the bag in college first. The NFL is priority 2. Can't blame players for that logic but it's VERY tough on fans.

Starts w/ local HS coaches >7 on 7 pushing away - for any stupid reason. Hope that changes - USF can be a constant top 25 team if so. Hope USF admin:coaches figure it out.

@WDE_Bowman @SarasotaUSF Believe me - don’t get me started about the created p4/G5. That’s not based on any on field or school measurements. Just conference affiliation. Evidence coach carousel /portal, & head to head matches. Not all “p4” are Georgia and not all “g5” are UMASS. USF is avg “p4”

@mopremier @SarasotaUSF Trust me I'm the last one to be an "SEC elitist" but there is a reality and a reason the conferences are referred to as "Power 4" and "Group of 5." And it's no differ than any other business industry. Everyone falls on a ladder and USF is no where near the top of the ladder.
