@DavQuinn It's a pity the two men at the top are both preachy, condescending and aggressive/go on the attack when under pressure. Not a fan but at least Varadkar could go on TV and appear to be defusing a situation or say the right thing. Neither Harris nor Martin have that ability.

It says much about the Irish far right movement that they spent all week trying to *prevent* their fellow citizens getting to work+ hospital appointments while blockading fuel depots to deprive people of fuel.
There’s a reason Irish people keep rejecting them at the ballot box.

I have spoken to the protesters today. They are willing to allow 10 loads of fuel out of Whitegate today for emergency services. This could increase tomorrow if there are positive results from the talks today. The government must engage.

Should we tell them that the carbon tax rate for us, the average taxpayers, is so high because farmers, despite being one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions, pay a much lower percentage and we need to make up for it?

We accept the right of people to protest but this is not a fair protest. Denying people the right to fuel and to clean water. These are essentials. Warnings to pregnant women to go much earlier to health appointments because of the blockade is not fair.

ppl saying she’s wrong bc a lot of women don’t want to be an sahm, which is true, but I would bet still that 99% of women don’t want to return *immediately* after birth. nvm my attachment to my child, I couldn’t sit down without pain for the first two weeks. birth is not easy.
