Albertans are paying more and getting less... except for Danielle Smith. The Premier is using our money to fund flights on private jets and stay in gilded hotel rooms with private butlers.

Why is Danielle Smith accepting private jets and luxury hotel stays worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a foreign government?

Alberta’s farmers are at the heart of our economy and our communities. It was great spending time with canola industry leaders and hearing directly from the people who keep this province growing.

While her government used the notwithstanding clause against striking teachers, Danielle Smith was accepting private jets and luxury hotel stays from the Saudi government. We pushed for stronger ethics rules with our No More Skyboxes bill, but the UCP voted it down. Now we see why. The entitlement is staggering.

It’s clear Premier Smith would rather filibuster her allocated time than actually answer to Albertans. We deserve so much better.

Interestingly enough however, she admitted that she took several private jet trips paid for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last year. She also revealed that she plans to develop a new intelligence agency through the Alberta Sherriff’s police service. /3

As part of the review of Budget 2026, I just spent two hours this afternoon questioning Premier Smith. It’s clear to me that she wasn’t interested in answering any of my questions seriously or providing Albertans with the transparency or information they deserve. /1

Each and every one of us has the right to live our lives with dignity.
