Two suspects have been arrested at Mooiplaas Informal Settlement in Erasmia, Pretoria, after police recovered military firearms allegedly stolen during a burglary at a SANDF facility earlier this year. The intelligence-driven operation, conducted jointly by SAPS and the SANDF on Saturday, led to the recovery of two R4 rifles with ammunition, a replica firearm, and a traffic officer’s uniform. The suspects now face charges including possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of government property, possession of a dangerous weapon, and contravention of immigration laws. Police are investigating whether the suspects may be linked to other criminal activities.
