Make no mistake, Red Sox ownership and management has declared war on the clubhouse. Players were not allowed to ask questions about Alex Cora’s dismissal and the accompanying house cleaning. Garrett Whitlock, according to @timbhealey of The Boston Globe: “Listen, they made it very clear that we get paid to play baseball - and (that) we need to just focus on playing baseball.” Translation: SHUT UP AND PLAY.

As much as I believe that Alex Cora wasn’t the root of the problems in this Red Sox clubhouse and Breslow deserves as much or more blame for this disaster of a start, if the players just performed like they are supposed to then none of this would be happening. Trevor Story and the rest of the guys must perform to win games.

Story was in tears talking about AC - really goes to show how much of an impact he made on a lot of these guys. Every player I’ve ever spoken with about Cora said something very similar about his ability to build personal relationships with each of them and be a good mentor
