Terrorism has no religion, race, or tribe.
It is a political ideology that takes the shape of religion, tribe, race, or nationality to gain power over a group of people.
It is a social construct responsible for massive loss of human lives across history, and despite being outlawed, it still exists where it is funded, protected, or allowed to thrive through weak systems.
Across Africa, ECOWAS and the AU are underperforming while terrorists continue to kill hundreds and destabilize communities.
Africa must come together to strengthen the AU, fully outlaw terrorism in practice and enforcement, and ensure that any struggle for power is resolved through civil means, without loss of life or destruction of property.
We must look beyond colonial borders and understand that the problems in Nigeria and across Africa do not respect those borders. We will either fail or succeed collectively.
