Presenting: The #HashTub Defroster, an Antminer S9 with an Ethernet-Cellular Router, produces 1200W of heat from any 120V outlet. Basically the Hashtub completely froze with the 10F/-12C temps over night, and using the S9 is the easiest and most efficient way to defrost it :)

Alright, found something I think may be a hot knife but I've got no clue. Was 6 bucks at my local thrift shop. Thoughts? You can press on the smaller piece and it brings the wire out of the bottom of the larger piece

Bought a few acres near the house last year, future garage site or friends / family homesite. Don’t know how I missed this cool old chimney when I walked the lot unless it was just completely obscured by vines. Gonna have to excavate and do some rebuilding around it.

@Applied_Ion For what it's worth I suspect the exercise will give you focus on a specific direction, or other events will bring an opportunity along.

@Applied_Ion If it's hard to step back a bit, the book exercise can give you a mental closure. It also leaves a staring point for someone in the future. I will buy two copies (one for me, one for a Hackerspace library). Use leanpub, price it more than $100.

@themitch22 Go to loopnet.com and craigslist -> office/commerical and search on "shop space". Also drive through industrial areas near you and call the numbers on the property management sign. Tell them what you do, some have restrictions like no auto/no woodshop.

I have a dilemma: if I can't rent a house with a garage/basement, how do I rent a workshop? I am not leasing a commercial space, and garage rentals won't let you work out of them.

@nmdmatt Well said. A framework for collaboration that is not a corporation with stock is the whole promise of it IHMO. NFT's and similar are just test scenarios for what will be the real use, like learning poker with chips before going to real money.

@techknight2 First try ignoring the 1.2mm diminsion in searches, get one wider and trim it. Second option is to find someone to 3D print it out of TPU like thingiverse.com/thing:2682637 but with no teeth. Again you might find it best to print it taller than needed and trim it with a razor blade.

Ladies and Gents I need some help! I am working on a belted floppy drive, and i need a flat belt. 1.2mm x 0.5mm x 95mm. Matsushita laptop drive. I cant find it ANYWHERE. not even in kits. Flat belt at 0.5mm thick is required due to clearances. Thoughts?
