@Mikehomeseller The only thing I ever get a McDonald’s is oatmeal and a medium coffee with three and three! Or a couple of cheeseburgers! That’s it. But I had a Whopper for lunch today…so my vote is for the Whopper!

@LeeJero32024251 Weird that you can find this album all over the place for under five bucks. But the cd is almost always around a hundred dollars! I don’t know why! From what I remember it’s an average album!

"If You Could Read My Mind" (1970)
One of Gordon Lightfoot's most personal songs, written during the breakup of his first marriage.
This 1972 performance shows how quietly powerful it was.
Where does it rank among his songs?x.com/calmalgodown/s…

@Mikehomeseller Breakfast In America…followed closely by The Cars!

#38 of 70: Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III (1970)
"Led Zeppelin III" was originally seen as a bit of a disappointment. It needs to be remembered that anticipation was impossibly high by the fall of 1970. Their first two albums were huge sellers, and "Whole Lotta Love" became a radio hit earlier that year. Their live show rightly earned them a reputation as the most impressive new band of the era, meaning they had a lot to live up to with their third release.
So they took their time with the record, cutting it at an isolated 18th century cottage in Gwynedd, Wales. The opening track "Immigrant Song" is a tease for people looking for the next "Whole Lotta Love" rock song, but the rest of the album is built on a folky, acoustic foundation.
The heart of the album lies on the second side, when the band delve deeply into English folk. "Gallows Pole" updates a traditional tune with a menacing flair, and "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" is an infectious acoustic romp, while "That's the Way" and "Tangerine" are shimmering songs with graceful country flourishes.
A couple of criticisms though, "Hats off to (Roy) Harper" sounds like a leftover B-side, while "Hey, Hey What Can I Do" an actual B-side of "Immigrant Song" would have been better served on "Led Zeppelin III", instead of the swampy sounding mess of "Hats off to (Roy) Harper", we got instead.
The other criticism, is the album cover art. I agree with Jimmy Page who notoriously disliked the cover, calling it "teeny boppy" and a "disappointment". Page took responsibility for the cover, stating the artist Zacron, took the group's idea too far and, due to deadlines, they had to use the final design.
Criticisms aside, "Led Zeppelin III" provided Led Zeppelin with the necessary room to grow musically, even though record sales were relatively soft, leaving some to wonder whether the band was on their way out. Little did they know what was coming next. . .
