I had a large dilemma to deal with this week…a large cold rain coming. Half the farmers I talked to were waiting, the other half planting, and not all the same crop. So I decided to turn to @acrealmanac on what previous years soil temps and planting told me! I added it up in my head, a bad decision could cost me over 10 grand. Listen to what the land has to say I kept repeating to myself. I then went even further and built a past soil temp and soil temp forecast for each field. And made it available to all users!

@Snake_redriver @acrealmanac We are pulling it from a public source, about as accurate as the digital rainfall gauges. You can always manually override it, too!

1984… someone marked that on the inside door, 25lbs per acre wheat. That was their version of record keeping! Even though it’s old, I can still create map layers and run multi variable analysis to understand what’s making a difference using @acrealmanac
