@elonmusk @wapodavenport SpaceX should implement a disposable fuel tank as upper stage first. As mid-term goal, the empty fuel-tank could get compressed in orbit and land on earth inside the cargobay of a starship.

@wapodavenport 16 flights is extremely unlikely. Starship payload to orbit is ~150 tons , so max of 8 to fill 1200 ton tanks of lunar Starship. Without flaps & heat shield, Starship is much lighter. Lunar landing legs don’t add much (1/6 gravity). May only need 1/2 full, ie 4 tanker flights.

Blue Origin just not giving up on the HLS program. Says the GAO’s decision highlights issues that “will prevent the U.S. from landing on the moon” and says it is concerned about SpaceX needing 16 launches, with limited flight readiness reviews, to get Starship to the moon.

@elonmusk @NASASpaceflight Ok so we need to redo naming. I suggest VAB for the new highest bay, then the High Bay, Mid Bay, and Windbreak (low bay) stay the same. Thoughts?

Awesome shot with the Mid Bay and High Bay also in view. Curious if future processing flow cadence will require another High Bay? Would also allow for another roof level bar, which is not a bad thing. 😅

@elonmusk @brendan2908 @NASASpaceflight Wouldn't it make sense to light the opposite side, because they have a better/earlier lever to overcome gravity? The flip requires only one engine, overcoming gravity requires all thrust available.
