The war is total. The war against terrorism and banditry. While our gallant soldiers have taken the war to their doorsteps especially in North East, their home of origin and headquarters of their operations and the place of birth of the late world's second most wanted terrorist, the people of south west have taken it upon themselves to flush out anyone who is found bearing an AK-47 assault rifle or any other deadly weapon in the name of protecting his cows. Lakurawas in the Sokoto -Zamfara-Niger axis are bleeding under pressure from the military. I saw the people of Ondo state. I saw the people of Oyo, Osun, Ogun and Ekiti states. The people have decided to be vigilant and alert. They want their territory protected from these roaming devils. I also saw many Gombe residents doing same. Some arms bearing terrorists were also caught in Benue. But we should be wary of jungle justice and except a Fulani man or anyone of other ethnicity is found with dangerous and illegal weapon, such person should not be dealt with based only on his ethnic background. Nothing will make me to stop saying this. Nothing. The abductors of school children in Oyo state are under surveillance but getting the children out is a very delicate task and even though, they have spent about 20 days in captivity, how the demands of their captors are being handled will play in a big role in when we will get out of the very unfortunate situation. The Ekiti incident is not being reported as it should and the vice chairman's self abduction in the same place where the innocent worshipers were abducted with the pastor shot during the operation is a big disappointment but that should not make the captives to be forgotten in the hands of their captors. Some have insulted us that we shouldn't have called out the governor because election is just a few days away but even if election is tomorrow, the captives should never be abandoned for if you have a relative among them, you will not be of that opinion. One guy said that we are not true progressives for asking that efforts should be made by government to rescue these people. Let us ignore those ones. Those who spread fake news to ignite panic are being caught and that is also commendable. Bandits who go on Tiktok to display the ransom they collected are also being picked up one after the other like snails. Those whose 'business' is to supply terrorists and bandits ammunition, food and drug are being apprehended all over the northern states. The Nigeria/US collaboration is also playing a big role in the fight. Even in the south east where the majority of the people are in love with their killers, IPOB terrorists, the military is on fire. In all, I see an end to terrorism and banditry in Nigeria. I see a Commander-in-chief whose order to dispatch them all to yonder is being carried out by his officers and men and even by the citizens. The only people who are sad are those who think that they can make political gains from the activities of their field Kachallas and Kachallatus. Sunday Wale #SWA

Both China and Europe are uneasy about Elon Musk's growing influence on geopolitics through the Starlink satellite network. They have decided to launch their own mega-constellations to compete with SpaceX. The current reality, however, is that Starlink still holds a significant lead despite the growing competition: Thousands of operational satellites already in orbit.✅ A global customer base.✅ Reusable launch capabilities through SpaceX.✅ A rapid deployment rate that competitors are struggling to match✅.

President Tinubu did not wait for the opposition to come together before making his move. He has spent years building political structures across the country. This is classic Tinubu politics: low on theatrics, heavy on structure. 🤏🤣😆 He understands that Nigerian elections are rarely won on social media or at rallies, but by controlling the political machinery that mobilizes votes and consolidates power. 🤷

Islam or Christianity is your personal business. Religion should never be elevated into a national conversation. That is why I often conclude that our traditional faiths remain among the most civilized expressions of spirituality. You will hardly find a devotee of Ogun roaming the streets in search of Sango worshippers to convert. To each, his own path. The river does not quarrel with another river because both are flowing to the sea. And if we are to be honest with ourselves, in our modern era, no war has been declared, no bomb detonated, and no bloodshed justified in the name of the Orisas. Their adherents have largely minded their shrines while others battle endlessly over whose road alone leads to heaven. Good Morning Severally...

The Kainji Lake National Park deserves special attention by the military. We cannot allow JAS make the Kainji National park in the Borgu local government of Niger state their new operational base. This is an area linking northwest to southwest Nigeria. The JAS, JNIM, and Lakurawa groups are notorious for planting roadside bombs and carrying out mass killings and kidnappings across the region. JAS militants abducted at least 45 students and school personnel during coordinated attacks on three schools in Oyo State, southwestern Nigeria, on May 15. In February 3, 200 people were killed while 40 people were abducted in the town of Woro, located just south of Kainji Park. The attack on Woro occurred less than four kilometers from Nuku, the site of JNIM’s first recorded assault inside Nigeria in October 2025. Recently many JAS fighters have retreated into Kainji National Park as they seek refuge from sustained Nigerian military operations in the north. There are reports JAS may have established an improvised explosive device manufacturing facility inside Kainji park. This is bad news, especially for the southwest, because if these trends persist without effective intervention, the axis could become a stable base for armed groups, serving as a direct gateway to southwestern Nigeria. The Nigerian military may want to consider expanding the scope of Operation Savannah Shield and adopt a more proactive, offensive posture to disrupt the threats before they can fully materialize.

GOOD NEWS: TROOPS IN KOGI CRUSH KIDNAPPERS’ ESCAPE PLAN, RESCUE 23 VICTIMS 🔥🔥 Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army have successfully rescued 23 kidnapped passengers following a swift counter-kidnapping operation along the Ayegunle–Bunu Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The rescue operation was launched in the early hours of 1 June 2026 after suspected bandits barricaded the highway and abducted several passengers travelling through the area. Acting on a distress call received at about 3:30 am, troops deployed within the Kabba metropolis immediately staged a rescue operation to the scene. Although the kidnappers had fled before the arrival of security forces, troops swiftly initiated an aggressive pursuit along the criminals’ suspected withdrawal routes. The troops during an assessment of the attack scene recovered two Toyota commercial buses and a HOWO truck abandoned by the roadside. Sadly, two victims were confirmed dead, while five others sustained injuries and were promptly evacuated to St. Joseph Hospital, Kabba, where they are currently receiving treatment. The relentless pressure mounted by the pursuing troops forced the kidnappers to abandon 23 of their captives, who were subsequently rescued unharmed and secured. Troops have continued to dominate the general area and are conducting intensive search-and-rescue operations aimed at locating and safely recovering any remaining victims still in captivity. The Nigerian Army remains resolute in denying criminal elements freedom of action and will continue to work closely with other security agencies and local stakeholders to strengthen security across Kogi State and the nation at large. The public is urged to please continue supporting ongoing security efforts by providing timely and credible information to relevant security agencies.

As ISWAP’s Foreign Fighter Pipeline Collapses, Nigeria’s Security Strategy Shows Signs of a Turning Point In a development that would have seemed improbable only a few years ago, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), one of Africa’s deadliest extremist organizations, has publicly acknowledged that the routes used to bring foreign fighters into its ranks have effectively collapsed. The admission, circulated through the group’s unofficial media channels, offers a rare glimpse into the mounting pressure facing insurgent networks across Nigeria’s northeast. ISWAP attributed the closure of its “hijrah” routes—pathways traditionally used to facilitate the migration of foreign recruits into terrorist-controlled territory—to what it described as relentless attacks by “the American dogs and the apostates of Nigeria.” For security officials and analysts, the statement is viewed as an indication that years of investments in intelligence gathering, military modernization, border security, and international cooperation are beginning to constrict the group’s operational space. dailyconcordnews.com/2026/06/04/as-

He was known as "Manti" to some, a nightmare to many communities, and now, to the VCRU, he is under arrest. For an extended period, Umar Abubakar, also known as "Manti," led a kidnapping syndicate that targeted Okuta, Ilesha-Baruba, Tabida, Taberu, and nearby communities in Kwara North. Families lived in fear, and communities remained cautious while "Manti" operated with apparent impunity. The Kwara State VCRU ultimately apprehended him. On 1st June 2026, operatives attached to Okuta Divisional Headquarters conducted a routine raid in the Tabida area, Baruten LGA. Suspicious persons were apprehended and transferred to the VCRU for detailed profiling. Intelligence efforts identified the gang leader, and subsequent operations resulted in his arrest. Two AK-47 rifles with fully loaded magazines were recovered. These weapons, previously used to threaten communities, are now secured and permanently removed from criminal possession. "Manti" and his associates are in custody and are providing information that is helping investigators uncover more details about the network. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, established the VCRU as a specialized unit to identify, pursue, and dismantle the most dangerous criminal networks in Nigeria. Today, in Kwara North, the unit fulfilled this mandate. For the communities affected by this syndicate, "Manti" is now in custody and the threat has ended.

PRESS RELEASE. VCRU: KWARA POLICE COMMAND RECORDS SIGNIFICANT OPERATIONAL SUCCESS AS VCRU ARRESTS SUSPECTED KIDNAPPING GANG LEADER, RECOVERS TWO AK-47 RIFLES. The Kwara State Police Command, through its Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), has recorded a major operational breakthrough in its ongoing offensive against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the State. On June 1, 2026, operatives attached to Okuta Divisional Headquarters, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended a group of suspicious persons believed to be involved in criminal activities during a routine raid operation within the Tabida area of Okuta, Baruten Local Government Area. Following the arrest, the suspects were transferred to the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Command for detailed investigation and profiling. Preliminary investigation by the VCRU led to the identification of one Umar Abubakar, alias "Manti", as the leader of a kidnapping syndicate believed to have been responsible for a series of kidnapping incidents and related violent crimes within parts of Kwara North, particularly around Okuta, Ilesha-Baruba, Tabida/Taberu, and adjoining communities. Further intelligence-driven investigation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles with fully loaded magazines believed to have been used by the criminal gang in carrying out their operations. The recovery represents a significant disruption of the group's operational capability and a major step towards restoring public safety within the affected areas. The suspects are currently in police custody and are providing investigators with useful information that will aid in identifying and apprehending other members of the criminal network. Efforts are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate's activities and bring all those connected with the crimes to justice. The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, commends the professionalism, resilience, and operational efficiency of the officers and men of the Violent Crime Response Unit and other supporting formations whose collaborative efforts led to the success. The Command further assures residents that intelligence-led operations have been intensified across strategic locations, while all available resources are being deployed to ensure the continued safety of lives and property throughout the State. The suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue. They will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations. E-Signed SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, ANIPR Police Public Relations Officer. For: Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command. 3rd JUNE, 2026.
