@xkeepah For my professional account, Mastodon works great. The engagement is much better because people who are interested in my posts are seeing them due to the instance feed. I'm still waiting to see where the retro gaming scene goes. It really begs for a wider audience.

twitter's going to die and nothing is going to replace it. twitter was twitter. every other alternative is different in (usually major) ways, and of course everyone is scattering to the four winds trying to force an alternative to be your new twitter is a mistake, whatever it is

@marcan42 It is going to be interesting what happens when the World Cup starts next week, and there is going to be spurts of large amounts of activity. I read that the site barely stayed up in past World Cups!

@KarstenBeoulve I used to have a forum, and few people posted there. What forum is going to start up in 2022 and be successful? It is a waste of time. I mean, come on.

Peebs is a big part of the SNES community. It is a shame this is being done to him. Please help if you can.

@marcan42 From everything I have heard about Mastodon, I do not see it as a Twitter replacement. It may take time for the next big social media platform to appear.

@BiZathras I have heard mixed things about the people who run Mastodon as well. Waiting to see is likely the best approach.

The verification system was Twitter's greatest assets. If they get rid o it, it is probably going to end up that a bunch of scammers are going to get "verified" soon. So, where is everyone going after this? I'm thinking of waiting and seeing what will be the next big shoutbox.

@IndieGamerChick Avatar was pretty good, I never understood the hate compared to other dumb action blockbusters. Especially since James Cameron knows how to make them.

@johntv It really is the source of all kinds of headaches. That, and the fact you have to use a katakana name for so many things, but that is not on your official documents.

I went to Book Off today, and found the Super Famicom version soundtrack for Final Fantasy V! I imagine this is not easy to find. The artwork is awesome.
