Good morning. If you've just woken up, the politics of hope (@GreenPartyHan) just crushed the politics of fear and hatred (Labour-Reform). It wasn't even close. 40.6% for the Greens. Reform second on 28.7%, Labour third on 25.4%.

I'm calling it. The Greens have won the Gorton and Denton by-election. Hannah Spencer will be the constituency's new MP.

Looks like the Greens are going to win so “Democracy Volunteers” — who no one has ever heard of until today — are attempting to declare the result null and void, presumably because some Muslim families turned up to the polling stations together and said they weren’t voting Labour

Zack Polanski took aim at both Keir Starmer's "politics of managed decline" and Nigel Farage's "politics of despair" in his speech at the Green Party's annual conference in Bournemouth.

Three leftwingers now lead the Green party. The party as we know it – cautious, centrist, narrowly focused on environmental issues – is dead.

"My message to Labour is very clear: we are not here to be disappointed by you. We are not here to be concerned by you. We're here to replace you." Implicit reference to Chowns and Ramsay here, who often use language of disappointment and concern about Labour party policies.
