@FIEdConsulting @lcfettes That sounds like it would be a great presentation. I imagine it will be a bit more challenging to get FI teachers to adopt and then adapt the UFLI program.

@summitcrazy @lcfettes I recently presented 90-minute virtual webinars in BC & Alberta on how to adapt the UFLI Foundations instructional routines (e.g., the 8 steps) for use in the EFI context. I shared the resources created by Angeline Humber & colleagues, as well as other resources.

Hey @lcfettes I am a parent and reading advocate in PG B.C. Is there a french version of UFLI or something similar to UFLI in french? If french immersion is not teaching english till grade 3 how can they get the explicit training in foundational reading skills they missed in K-1?

@summitcrazy Hi @summitcrazy! There isn’t a French UFLI, however, many of the steps in the UFLI sequence can be adapted for FI. @AngelineHumber has been doing incredible work here in Ontario, to create materials that align, in French. I’ll DM you and show you some of what we do.
