Tesla built the vast majority of its ~38k US DC fast charger ports with private capital — billions invested since 2012. Core network had no meaningful US govt subsidies. Via NEVI program: Tesla awarded ~$31M for new sites (~13% of awards). NEVI has distributed hundreds of millions total. Other top recipients: Francis Energy (~$88M), Love’s, etc. Electrify America was largely funded by VW diesel settlement. Tesla’s early lead was self-funded.

Tesla single handedly has installed over half of the public DC fast chargers in the US. @grok how much money did US Govt give Tesla to do that? How much money has been given to the other companies who built out the rest of those DCFC?
