Our littlest residents in Sawarha Camp kicked off our Eid celebrations! chuffed.org/project/166623…
The joy of children on the first day of Eid al-Fitr is evident as they danced and played, feeling the celebratory atmosphere for the first time in 3 years. Despite the backdrop of being internally displaced, living in a camp, still facing scarcity, for at least this moment there is happiness and hope.
And The Sameer Project is thankful to be a part of these special moments, this renewal of energy, strengthening of community, as the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end.
Than you for your continued support and we still have more activities planned through the weekend! Donate to our Ramadan and Eid Campaign.
Other ways to donate include:
paypal.me/mahertali (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "Ramadan")
account.venmo.com/u/Maher-Ali (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "Ramadan")

Another Eid and this picture is viral again. My heart breaks for Sudan every time I see it. This photo was taken in Darfur that is now under RSF control. They have raped, tortured & killed thousands! Its been 4 Eids now…I cant help but wonder if this little boy is still alive…

Meanwhile Muslim leaders are inviting supporters of these occupiers and genociders into our mosques. Obscene.

For the first time since 1967. No Eid prayer at Al-Aqsa mosque.

Every person who shut down protestors should hang their head in shame. You’ve disgraced the community and sold out Muslims. And “deep intellectual discussion”? Sick of this liberal spectacle of ‘rational’ discourse. No one is discoursing with war thugs & their collaborators.

Footage from @abcnews this morning shows Anthony Albanese and Tony Burke booed & heckled in a western Sydney mosque. As organisers tried to keep calm, people heckled the two over their involvement in Gaza, screaming: "You don't even represent us" "What are you doing here?" .

Edward Norton: “The anxiety of these times is particularly intense right now. We know the world is effed up in ways that are unprecedented in our lifetimes. We live in this unbelievable onslaught of information. We see genocide being livestreamed to us. We see American citizens being killed by paramilitary people in our own streets for standing in solidarity with their neighbors. We’re seeing Epstein’s abuses titrated into us on a daily basis”

Under the cover of darkness, the earth opens to receive what should never have been taken.
Nearly 200 coffins, silent, identical, and unbearable carry the weight of lives cut short at a place meant for healing, not death. A rehabilitation centre in Kabul turned into a site of mourning. Families shattered. Futures erased by GHQ Pindi.
What bitter irony, those seeking recovery met with destruction. What cruelty, that innocence is buried while power speaks of strategy in Islamabad. And behind it, a deeper wound when a military becomes a subcontracted hand of violence, exporting death beyond its borders, leaving neighbours to bury the consequences.
These are not numbers. These are sons,, fathers, brothers. And tonight, a nation lowers them into the ground, one by one, under the shadow of decisions made far away, by hands that will never feel this grief.
The soil of Kabul grows heavier with sorrow.
