Maudsley and another patient tortured and murdered Francis, a convicted child molester, over nine hours. 3.Salney Darwood, age 46 - Murdered on July 29, 1978, at Wakefield Prison. Maudsley strangled and stabbed Darwood, who was imprisoned for killing his wife. 4.William Roberts, age 56 - Killed on July 29, 1978, at Wakefield Prison.
