Nigerian politicians are deeply consumed by greed and corruption. They steal from the very people they are meant to serve, and yet deny them the basic necessities of life. Billions of naira are looted, but instead of investing in Nigeria to create jobs and improve the economy, the money is taken abroad and hidden in foreign accounts. After more than 60 years of independence, the country still struggles with unstable electricity, poor water systems, and a weak healthcare sector. Infrastructure remains underdeveloped, and opportunities for the youth are limited. Yet, when election season arrives, these same politicians suddenly present themselves as saints, making promises they have no intention of keeping, all to deceive the struggling masses. Sadly, some youths even go as far as becoming thugs, allowing themselves to be used to intimidate others for short-term gain, while their own future continues to suffer. The problem is further worsened by a system that many citizens believe lacks accountability. When politicians are accused of stealing billions, the expectation is justice. But too often, cases drag on endlessly, or rulings appear to favor the powerful. This erodes public trust and creates the impression that corruption has no real consequences. Nigeria has enormous potential, a vibrant population, vast natural resources, and talented youth. What holds the country back is not a lack of ability, but a lack of integrity, accountability, and sincere leadership. Real change will only come when leaders prioritize national development over personal wealth, when institutions are strengthened to uphold justice, and when citizens refuse to be manipulated by money, tribalism, or empty promises. Two little children are begging for help to save their mother! Right now, she needs all the prayers and love we can give. Every “sorry,” every prayer, every share counts. Let’s not let them lose her.

@Beejaysport As a TTC, I have a list of names I want for my unborn children with condition that d meanings must reflect in their lives & d pronunciation must not be those that can be altered by people. As much as I love BAARU, I wouldn't want my child be called barrow. People spoil names

I met Zainab 3 days before she left the country. It was a going away party in Gbagada for someone I barely knew. I almost didn't go. She almost didn't either. Lagos just put us in the same room and watched. She was by the window eating jollof rice off a plastic plate. I walked over. I'm not that person. But I did. We talked from 9pm until the host started packing chairs at 1am. She was a doctor. Pediatrics. Fellowship in Edinburgh. Leaving in 3 days. Terrified and excited in equal measure and couldn't explain either feeling to most people around her. I understood both without her having to explain. She asked why. I told her I'd buried my own dream of leaving 2 years before. Family. Responsibilities. The way Lagos holds some people like a hand around a throat that loves you. She looked at me when I said that. Really looked. We exchanged numbers at 1:30am under a flickering light in the car park. I drove home and sat outside my flat for 20 minutes not going inside. She flew out Tuesday. We texted that first week like 2 people who knew exactly what they were doing and were doing it anyway. Then calls. Then every night. Then every night for so long I stopped noticing the time difference and she started answering in a half sleep voice that felt more intimate than anything I'd felt in years. 4 months in she said "I think about coming home more than I should." I told her don't. Build what you went there to build. She said that wasn't what she was asking. I asked what she was asking. She didn't answer that night. I flew to Edinburgh month 7. Saved 3 months for it. Told nobody except Tunde who dropped me at the airport 4am without being asked. 8 days. The happiest 8 days of my adult life. Not loudly. The quiet happiness of walking next to someone through a cold city feeling like you are exactly where you're supposed to be. We cooked in her small flat. Watched films until 3am under one blanket. Day 7 we sat by the water at Leith and she said what are we doing. Not aggressive. Just honest. Her fellowship was 2 years. Career accelerating in ways Lagos couldn't match. I had a mother in Surulere. A business built from nothing. Roots in a city that broke me and raised me in the same breath. We were not a distance problem. We were a life problem. Last night she made egusi soup in that small kitchen. Whole flat smelling like a Lagos Sunday in a way that hurt. We ate and talked about everything except the thing. She walked me to the taxi at 5am and held my face in both hands for a long moment. Didn't say I love you. But it was in her hands. All of it. That was 8 months ago. We still call. Maybe 3 times a week now. She sends small things. A drawing a sick child made. A voice note at midnight. You can hear how extraordinary she is just from how she talks about her patients. Her extension came through last month. Another 18 months in Edinburgh. She called when she found out. Long pause before she spoke. I said congratulations and meant it. She said thank you then went quiet. Then she said what if I come home after. After is 18 months away. I water the plant on my balcony every morning. She saw it on a video call month 2 and said it looked neglected. Told me exactly what it needed. I followed everything she said. It's the healthiest it's ever looked. That's all I have right now. After is coming. I'm just keeping things alive until it gets here.

College of Education built by Sheikh Idris Abdul-Aziz Dutsen Tanshi is a school that provides free educational opportunities to orphans. The Sheikh also established a hospital. He founded the College of Education in Dutsen Tanshi, Bauchi, where he offers free education to children of the less privileged and orphans who cannot afford school fees. In October 2023, due to the severe economic hardship faced by many people, Dr. Idris Abdul-Aziz Bauchi waived the first semester registration fees for all students at NCE and Diploma levels in the college. For this act of kindness alone, he truly deserves to be appreciated. Rest in peace 🕊️
