In today's Bulletin on the retirements last year of Yang/Huo, I've included some thoughts on how systemic dishonesty from our political class creates conspiracy theorists. In my view, we don't talk enough about this aspect of conspiracism thespinoff.co.nz/the-bulletin/2…

@TrueAnonPod Precisely what someone who drinks children’s blood would do 🧐🧐

I’m sure @grantrobertson1 has envisaged getting up in the house and giving an impassioned speech on inequality many times. But I doubt he ever expected the purpose of that speech to be justifying a wage freeze.

Every-time Sepuloni does a press conference Ricardo trots out the same god-awful lines about communities “thriving”. Grow up!
Ricardo Menéndez@RMarchNZ
Our communities deserve liveable incomes, not being told that the current piecemeal approaches to welfare reform are massive. We will keep fighting for higher benefits and rewrite the whole of the Social Security Act to deliver a welfare system that ensures people can thrive.

@ecomanda @GreenpeaceNZ Thanks Amanda for your prompt response! Very interesting.

Hey @ecomanda – congratulations on getting appointed to an MBIE reference group. What a win for Greenpeace!
One question, how much are you being paid? We've asked MBIE but you might be able to answer more quickly.

@lionel_trolling Say Tucker was deplatformed, the same ideas would simply re-emerge, more sure of themselves than ever before.
English

@lionel_trolling If we’re in a world of hypotheticals, surely the preferable outcome is not his show being cancelled but it failing to resonate with an audience? That’s the saddest thing about Tucker, he takes legitimate material concerns and misplaces them.

I had honestly forgot the fawning international articles about how we’d solved capitalism, the self-congratulatory speech from jacinda at Davos, the living standards framework. The “well-being” approach may well prove to be a perfect analogy for the legacy of the 6th labour govt.
Bryce Edwards@bryce_edwards
Sadly, "Wellbeing" appears to be joining other key terms like "transformational", "KiwiBuild", and "kindness" in the Government's list of not-to-be-uttered, embarrassing words. I've commented on this here: bit.ly/WellbeingAxed

@james_hlcw Quitting the public sector because it’s not woke enough 😜😜
