Whoa, nēnē! 2 Hawaiian geese dip into Halemaʻumaʻu and get a gander of the new lava. Nēnē are often observed flying over Kīlauea after sunrise and before sunset between roosting areas and foraging grounds, but it is unusual to see them fly low over the lava lake. NPS 📸/J.Wei

@todayInIreland @TheBrianEarley @Towson_SWIMDIVE Ha! Sally taught Red Cross swimming lessons at a beach in Greenville, Maine on Moosehead Lake and it was freezing. Those little swimmers would have purple lips and still said, "I'm not cold".

There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

The Orangery has reopened after a lengthy, but much needed, maintenance project! The newly refinished restrooms will be open seven days a week from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Visitors can also find their Passport To Your National Parks stamps there as well.
