The muted coverage by a large section of the Indian media on the NIA arrests is a bit baffling. This is arguably the biggest story right now. It’s not often that CIA operatives are arrested so publicly. What gives?

Stefankiv Marian. Honcharuk Maksim. Kaminskyi Viktor. 8 more Ukrainians—still being searched. The charges- UAPA. Illegal entry into restricted Mizoram border areas. Training ethnic armed groups. Drone warfare. Assembly. Jamming. European drone consignments imported via India into Myanmar. His own words- ‘As long as my team shoots in the right direction the US government looks the other way.’ March 16—Special NIA Court Delhi. 11 days custody approved. March 27—next hearing. And the comparison nobody is making. January 2025. America deported Indian illegal immigrants. Hands shackled. Feet chained. Military aircraft. India’s response—silence. March 2026. India arrested an American allegedly training insurgents on Indian soil. This is not just a criminal case. This must go to the UN. This must be raised in every bilateral meeting. This must be on every diplomatic table. If America can deport Indians in chains on military aircraft for crossing a border illegally— India can raise an alleged American mercenary training insurgents on Indian soil at the highest levels of international diplomacy. Sovereignty is not selective. Neither should be India’s voice.

@UnSubtleDesi This doesn’t look like a CIA situation and if it were, it wouldn’t be public under an unpredictable president like Trump. Why would India agreed to comply on not buying Russian oil, but then poke Trump in the eye and expose an alleged CIA officer? It doesn’t make sense.

This silence from the so-called ‘free press’ is deafening bcz it exposes their hypocrisy; they'll run 24/7 coverage when it's about Ukraine fighting Russia, but when actual Ukrainian & US citizens are caught red handed in Mizoram illegally crossing borders with drones from Europe to train anti-India insurgent groups , suddenly the news cycle goes blank . US citizen involved literally posted online about running covert ops to overthrow governments , yet our media acts like catching C-IA linked operatives on Indian soil is just another Tuesday . Like the Italian soldiers who murdered in cold blood & India just released them, this case will go the same way. Some foreign ambassador will take guarantee in court for release, they will leave, never to return, while the immunity will protect the foreign official or S/he may get transferred out.
