Crimson Desert PC: AMD ray regeneration and Nvidia ray reconstruction provides dramatic lighting improvements - almost as transformative as RT on/off: youtu.be/SlRpJ553RzE
@digitalfoundry C’mon guys, it’s becoming pretty obvious that you’re promoting the game and acting like a mouthpiece for Pearl Abyss instead of being honest about how it actually runs on base consoles. Stop holding back the real details and show us what the game truly looks like on those systems
@digitalfoundry PC version looking that good and I’m over here on PS5 trying to decide if Crimson Desert is worth pushing the budget. This is not helping my wallet stay closed.
@digitalfoundry i cant imagine being stuck to my PS5 pro playing with that awful denoiser with high settings upscaling from 1080p to 4K only to hit a busy cpu area and my 60 fps to drop to 30fps my ps5 pro and my 9070XT made me appreciate my RTX 5090. AMD rayregen looks inferior next to rayrecon
@digitalfoundry ray reconstruction is becoming the real performance unlock.
i've seen it turn unplayable RT titles into smooth experiences, more transformative than raw hardware uplifts.
@digitalfoundry You are using a build that 99% of people reading this can't afford. Shows us how the game runs on an average pc build, preferably a $500 -$700 build.
@digitalfoundry honestly the fact that these terms even exist now is wild. a few years ago it was just "turn it on or off" and accept the fps hit. now there's a whole spectrum. the optimization game has changed so much.
@digitalfoundry Alex please listen, tell the devs to give us an option to disable all denoisers so dlss4.5 does denoising by itself like in sh2 remake, it look so much better.
@digitalfoundry Silence regarding base PS5 performance has prevented preorder and if it's bad after launch I'll simply pass..specs seem to be the new digital deity while actual gameplay is an afterthought
@digitalfoundry It's kind of bothering me they are willing to let all kinds of outlets show whatever they want visually wise, but they keep a review embargo until 1 day before the day of release.
@digitalfoundry ray reconstruction's biggest win isn't just fidelity, it's how few rays you can get away with and still look great.
that's what makes real-time path tracing possible.
@digitalfoundry Bro I’ve never felt like my pc was so ass lmao. I wish I could use those settings, it looks beautiful but I’m chillin on those pc prices
@digitalfoundry You can stop promoting these lazy practices in place of proper optimisation any time.
Game graphics has been regressing for 10 years and you are part of the problem not the solution.
