The BSFA are live streaming their award ceremony this evening for works published in 2019. Winners will be announced for Best Novel, Best Shorter Fiction, Best Non-Fiction, and Best Artwork.

Today a thank you card was electronically delivered to the Concentric 2020 committee and staff. It featured original art and oh so many signatures and messages of thanks. We were overwhelmed by emotion and truly left speechless. 1/3

Important Announcement from the committee Please Read! The committee has now taken the hard decision in conjunction with the hotel to cancel Concentric 2020 for the health and safety of all of our members. 1/5

We will be in touch with you regarding membership refunds and also about some of the traditional Eastercon business such as bid sessions, award ceremonies, etc. We ask that you bear with us as we work our way through this. 4/5

The recent mandate to close restaurants and bars made it impossible for the hotel to continue to use their meeting and conference space. As you can imagine it will take time to unwind all of the preparations for the convention. 3/5

This is not a decision we have taken lightly as there has been a lot of hard work put into the planning thus far, however the committee and the hotel feel that this is the right thing to do. 2/5

However, events are moving rapidly and new directives from the government ( if forthcoming) could alleviate certain issues we now face. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Until it becomes illegal or impossible to run the convention both we and the hotel are obliged to proceed as if it is happening. CONTINUED...

We remain in constant contact with the venue, as well as monitoring communications from HMG and PHE. Both we and the hotel are facing contract constraints that, without ‘force majeure’ would cause a significant financial impact. CONTINUED....
