Perhaps because 2 million voters who voted for the Democratic Nominee four years earlier, did not show up to vote for her in 2024, the Presidential nominee from their own home state? There is some strange assumption that *she* would moon walk into Governorship. But California Democrat who shed 2 million voters in four years, while Trump GAINED voters between 20 to 24 in California ... at some point has to reckon with the quality of their own candidacy and appeal in that state. This isn't overly complicated.
For her sake, she absolutely made the right call to sit this out.
