Every fall, eastern monarch butterflies migrate to spend the winter in remote forests in Mexico, a journey they've made for thousands of years. Their population in Mexico has declined 70% in the last 30 years. But this winter, a WWF-Mexico survey found a 64% increase in butterflies during the 2025-2026 hibernation season.
