Wanting Josh Elander fired when he hasn’t completed a full year, when we all begged for him to be hired might be the most embarrassing thing our fanbase has done thus far. Give the man a year

You should be proud of this team and program, Danny. It's the only one led by a coach you didn't hire and the only one that provides a return on investment.

@vol_long @TheRobertoUTVol I agree. I think he would have had the backbone to go against the fans, but I think he changed his tune when the booster began weighing in on Elander needing to be the hire.

@615Vol @TheRobertoUTVol I saw massive amounts of fans @ ing him over elander. He never had a chance to make a hire without massive complaints. This one hire i will never put on him unless it goes bad for more than a year maybe two at most.

We should've hired Schnall, as I told folks.

You really can tell easily who’s been a Tennessee baseball fan for 5 minutes. Not even 5 years because you can’t even remember how the 2022 season ended.

@TnTitanFan1 @VFLJess82 You don't hire a coach you have to learn about and decide if he can make it when your program was where Tony V had the Vols baseball program. An unknown like Elander would make more sense if the program were at the same level as it was in 2017 when Tony V was hired.

@VFLJess82 This is not 2022 man😭 If we had Vitello still I wouldnt be doubting this team. We are still learning about Elander so we will see how he responds as time goes on.

@Twain865 @DiamondVols I’m no fan of Danny White, but no way we can blame this hire on Danny White. He did not want Elander. Fans and then boosters forced White to hire Elander. If he went against the boosters, he would have been gone.

@DiamondVols After the bunt call in the 15th I’m done with Elander. Danny Dimes messed up royally allowing the fan base to make that hire. This experiment cannot end quickly enough.

Keep wanting to believe in this team. Way too damn talented to be playing as bad as they have been. Just can’t seem to find any sort of consistency in the offense. Still a long ways to go though. Just get to postseason. Whatever it takes.

@SullenSerf If we are having to give a coach a year to figure it out, it was not the correct hire considering where the program was at the moment TV announced he was leaving.

Just give Josh Elander a season. That’s all I ask. If you still think he’s a horrible coach, cool. But it’s objectively impossible to say he was a bad hire 4 games into SEC play.

@gilbert87 @FOXNashville But it would be darker an hour earlier than what we are used to in the summer. If you are changing it, change it so you get an extra hour of daylight in the winter as well.

@PROducerIOTB I’m a Vol fan and I also support letting players celebrate and have fun while playing the game. That said, when you do and it wasn’t really something to celebrate, you have to accept the consequences that come with that.

Stone Lawless is as good as a dude as you will find in college baseball. He did nothing wrong here. A lot of players from a lot of teams would have done the same thing. It’s a rivalry game on the road and he launched it…posting to make fun of the kid is a bad look 🤷‍♂️
