@67Ronmac @jduffin24 2009 actually I think.
The year after Rangers trashed Manchester.
Celtic wanted no association with them, although 2012 is what most people assume it is.
It would be interesting if someone can find details of Celtic using that term in those 3 years.

@ColtWerner @UnamunoAgain There was many reasons. Edge of empire, low taxes, unfavourable terrain, constant attacks by the picts. Was seen as not worth it by the Romans.
English

@67Ronmac @UnamunoAgain Rather than the fact of “unconquerable” is… the fact that Britannia was of worse provinces of Rome, its climate was chaotic.
English

@ColtWerner @UnamunoAgain Antonine and Hadrians wall was built, as the northern edge of the Roman empire in Britain. Caledonia was unconquerable

@NM12713716 @UKScotBrit As one person, one vote we have an equal say, Scotland or Wales for that matter will never have a say how the uks run as they are too small in number, making it a token gesture. Scotland before it was Scotland, was a mix of Picts, gaels strathclyde and northumbria, your point.
English

@67Ronmac @UKScotBrit The UK is one country made up of several former countries. That’s it. Thats why we all have British passports. And we ALL have an equal say in how the country is run- one vote each no matter where you live. BTW Scotland wasn’t always one country either.
English

Everyone in Scotland should read this very good comment on this article:-
"In Scotland there are two economic debates to be had.
The first is how a devolved administration in Holyrood manages its budget. It’s clear the SNP is spending money it doesn’t have on a “progressive” welfare state, whilst at the same time funding a bloated public sector; the SNP continue to act as if growing the public sector is good for the economy, and have never grasped the concept that you can’t tax your way to prosperity.
The second debate (the Voldemort of debates) is how an independent Scotland, with the second biggest deficit in Europe after Ukraine, with its prorated share of the UK debt mountain, with an untested currency or at the mercy of the Bank of England, with a hard border at Gretna for people and goods with its biggest (by far) trading partner, with business, asset and top rate taxpayer flight (as happened in Catalonia), would cope without the largesse of that nice Mr Barnett.
The SNP’s answer to the first debate is spend, tax those with “the broadest shoulders” and carp about Westminster “austerity”, they have no answer to the second, given they’re not prepared to engage in that debate - better for votes to stick to “Westminster bad so independence good”.
The Holyrood election is a smoke and mirrors exercise; the elephants in the Scottish economy room won’t be discussed.
And of course describing actions you would take to fix the looming £5 billion deficit in the Scottish budget won’t get you votes; we the electorate expect jam today and jam tomorrow"
Surely none of you are still thinking about voting SNP!

@UKScotBrit @NM12713716 Your language suggests your english, have been subjugated that much or you discriminate against a certain community in Scotland. Either way, no true Scot will call our country a region, it's nonsensical.
English

@67Ronmac @NM12713716 Only three regions of the UK rejected Brexit. Our REGION, London and N. Ireland. See even the EU know we are a region of the UK.
English

@UKScotBrit @NM12713716 Your gonna have to show receipts if your going to spout shite. Again, having another country dictate your affairs, will always be the number 1 reason for independence.
English

No we aren't treated equally we get so much more than any other part of the UK. Yet you complain about it.
John Swinney feared that an iScotland would not afford to pay state pensions and welfare benefits.
Is that the kind of Scotland. The only European country with a bigger deficit than Scotland is Ukraine.
English

@UKScotBrit Don't hate brits, do hate the people that continue to subjugate my country, which is those in power in WM. They are not your brothers and sisters, you are not the same as them. They laugh at you. Weird why you would bootlick another country.
English

@NM12713716 @UKScotBrit Factually incorrect. The UK is 3 country's and 2/3rds of a Irish province. England being circa 10 times larger, means that Scotland will never have a say. Subjugation at its finest.
English

@67Ronmac @UKScotBrit Scotland ceased being a country in 1707. That’s why you have a British passport and not a Scottish one. And no one gets more votes than you. We all only get one no matter where we live. Not everyone in England votes the same and not everyone in Scotland votes the same as you.
English

@NM12713716 @UKScotBrit Actually no idea what your slevering. Scotland is a Country, Kent or Cheshire, sweet fa to do with me and no, they aren't treated equally.
English

@67Ronmac @UKScotBrit I bet you thought your brother was the favourite child too. Every one in the UK is treated equally and has an equal one vote. It’s the country as a whole that matters not Kent, nor Cheshire nor Lothian nor Moray.
English

@UKScotBrit But it won't, think you know that. You cannot be happy being an after thought of being a scot in this union. You must really have hate in your heart for Scotland.
Why don't you turn your hatred into lobbying for an independent Scotland for every one of us, you included?
