The data is clear. Victorians deserve to have their voices heard, especially when it comes to what children are being taught and exposed to. Thank you @theheraldsun and @Carly__Douglas for bringing this into the public conversation.

We’re often told that concerns about gender ideology in schools come from a small minority of parents. The data tells a very different story. We recently commissioned research surveying 1,500 Victorians, and the results are clear. The majority are not comfortable with the direction of gender-related teaching in schools. In primary schools, 56.87% of respondents oppose this teaching, compared to 20.73% who support it. In secondary schools, 53.47% oppose it, while 26.27% support it. More than 70% were also opposed to children accessing puberty blockers or hormone therapy. We are calling on both the Victorian Government and the Opposition to respond to what the data is saying: parents care deeply about what their children are being taught, and they are not happy.

The Government has officially given Equality Australia DGR status, after it had already been rejected through the proper process. Equality Australia is an advocacy group that campaigns against religious freedom and for the erosion of biological sex; an ideology that deceives children into medically transitioning. Now, the Government is using your money to support them. Is this not ideological bias? DGR has always been reserved for organisations with recognised charitable purposes that deliver a public benefit; things like hospitals, homelessness services, food banks, and disaster relief. It isn’t just a symbolic gesture that holds no weight in our tax system. It materially changes an organisation’s ability to fundraise, backed by taxpayers. That’s why there’s a process. And in this case, the answer was no. Instead of accepting that, the Government stepped in and changed the rules. Please explain Prime Minister!

Equality Australia, a lobby group that actively campaigns against religious freedom and protecting children from gender harm, applied for tax-deductible (DGR) status. They went through the proper process and got knocked back. Then they appealed to a minister… and got approved. Same application. Different outcome. DGR status means donations are tax-deductible, so taxpayers are now helping fund that organisation. So naturally, a few questions come to mind. Firstly…have we just been using the wrong process this whole time? (All joking aside, we respect the laws governing DGR status, we just wish other groups did too...)

The Australian Christian Lobby congratulates Senator Matt Canavan on his appointment as Leader of The Nationals Party. Senator Matt Canavan is politician of conviction, holding a consistent track record of voting for faith and freedom. So much so, in 2024, at his 10-year celebration of being a Senator, ACL awarded Senator Canavan the ‘Daniel Award’ for his courageous public stand for truth. Gender medicine is back in the headlines this week. And once again, the biggest story isn’t what we know, but what we don’t. New reporting from The Australian has revealed that at least 2,300 children have been given puberty blockers across Australia. But the catch? That data is only from 2 states. Several states and territories continue to refuse to release full data. Let us put this in context for you: between 2009 and 2020, the UK had approximately 2000 children who received puberty blockers. Australia’s population is about 40 per cent of the UK’s. Imagine any other medical treatment being given to thousands of children while governments keep the numbers secret. Former Liberal Health Ministers are calling the lack of transparency 'inexplicable.' And they’re right. Good medicine relies on evidence, scrutiny, and open debate, not secrecy. Today the Labor Government pushed forward with a Bill that will provide DGR status to Equality Australia, who sought special permission from a Labor Minister after the ACNC and the full Federal Court's decision to disallow it. Equality Australia has campaigned heavily against legal exemptions which enable Christian institutions to operate according to their religious ethos. It has been a driving force behind conversion practices legislation, which prohibits people with dysphoria or with questions about their gender and sexuality from receiving genuine pastoral care. It has campaigned for the erasure of male/female sex differences in all laws. It has supported the eradication of women’s sex-based rights. Labor's decision to override the ACNC's decision is unmistakable ideological bias and it is scandalous. The Australian Christian Lobby does not have DGR status, because we play by the rules. We’ve joined together to call for a ban on gambling ads in Queensland. Gambling losses in Queensland hit a record $6.53 billion in 2023–24. That is a 52% increase since 2018–19. Every dollar lost carries a real human cost, from addiction and family stress to financial hardship. Children are exposed to these ads every day, putting them at risk of a lifetime of harm. Western Australia still allows biological males to be housed in women’s prisons. Across Australia, there have already been cases where male prisoners identifying as female were placed in women’s facilities, raising serious concerns about safety and fairness for female inmates. Women in prison are among the most vulnerable people in our society. Regardless of their crime, they are entitled to be protected from real harm. They cannot leave or choose who they are housed with. The internet’s weakest security measure? The 'I’m over 18' button. But, Australia has taken an important step to protect children online. New rules coming into force this week, mean pornography websites and other platforms must properly verify users’ ages, replacing the ineffective 'I’m over 18' click-through that has failed to keep kids safe. The changes require porn sites, app stores, gaming providers and AI services to block under-18s from harmful content. Companies that fail to comply could face fines of up to $49.5 million per breach. For too long, children have had easy access to damaging material online. AHPRA has imposed conditions on Queensland psychiatrist Dr Andrew Amos after he publicly questioned the evidence behind puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors. Common sense has left the building. This is what happens when privacy is sacrificed for ideology.   The Australian Building Codes Board has released the National Construction Code 2025, allowing all-gender toilets to replace single sex facilities in public buildings like schools, workplaces and shopping centres.   While developers may present this as a voluntary choice, the reality is that for women, girls, victims of sexual violence, and those from religious or cultural communities, it will mean fewer dedicated spaces, less privacy, and compromised dignity. Dr Andrew Amos, a Queensland psychiatrist and academic at James Cook University, has had sweeping conditions imposed on his registration by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Medical Board of Australia. He is prohibited from making online statements about gender issues and prevented from patient contact. This follows complaints from trans activists about his public comments questioning the evidence base for child gender medicine. Whatever your view on the issue, silencing debate is not how medicine advances. Around the world, governments and experts have raised concerns about the strength of evidence for puberty blockers and cross sex hormones in minors. In Australia, even the Family Court of Australia has recently scrutinised expert evidence in gender cases. Yet instead of open discussion, we are seeing regulatory force used against dissenting clinicians. If doctors cannot question emerging and controversial treatments without risking their careers, the effects will be chilling and far-reaching. Patients, parents and practitioners all deserve transparent, evidence based debate, not closed doors and gag orders. We are calling for the immediate lifting of the conditions on Dr Amos and a transparent review of how these decisions are being made.
