@DZI_WWFC And beyond positions etc., we really need to improve the winning mentality in the group. Others have said it, but Duff clearly getting frustrated with how lacking we are there. Think that's why Leahy, Grimmer, Woodrow and maybe even Norris have played so much.

@DZI_WWFC Unless the "new signing" in goal is Gianluigi Donnarumma, that back four ain't getting us promoted. Look at *last season* for evidence of what good looks like; Anders / Casey have improved from slow starts, but aren't a patch on Bradley (Champ-bound), Caleb (Prem-bound?) or JLow

My current thoughts regarding transfers for next season, all the keepers will leave I imagine so we’ll need 3-4 new signings there (3-4 for training purposes), Lowe will be heading back so bringing in a striker who is physical but can also stretch the opposition backline vertically will be important. With the return of a fully fit Scowen next season, maybe we see us switch to a double pivot in build up that way Scowen can play in the 6 alongside Morley instead of the 8 as he’s better there and it’s more natural for him as a DM. Although despite saying that the 4-3-3 in possession has looked good in my opinion with the continued development of the attacking dynamics so I’m not sure i would like to see us switch. Plus if Scowen was playing in the 8 he has the game intelligence to know when to drop in build up similar to Boyd-Munce. Grimmer lacks at times in the technicality department but I’ve seen significant improvement from Jack this season under Duff and I look forward to his continued development next season so he’s more than deserving of a starting place next season, he’s been solid 1v1 defensively and a key part of our right sided triangle in the final 3rd this season. Let me know your thoughts on what you’d like to see this summer. (Analysis from yesterday’s game out soon, currently rewatching the game).

You may have noticed I didn't cover the Wycombe game today. I had planned to attend, but at 2.38am, fatherhood began. #Chairboys

Aside from any musing on the future - the treatment Junior took in the first half, and the lack of protection (or even any sense of consistency) from both lino and ref - really shit

If we have ambitions to start August 2027 in the Championship, we need 8 or 9 new first XI players Without a freak first-half red card v Cardiff, we would be on a run of 6 defeats in 7 - at the business end of the season

After all the churn in past few transfer windows, the last thing this squad needs is total overhaul. Unfortunately, what this squad needs is a total overhaul.

@wwfcofficial Four defeats in six .. and we're still only 3pts from the playoffs. The stupidest season ever 🤪😵‍💫

@DZI_WWFC Maybe a small window (2023?) where it looked like Saudi were attracting real talent.. but we're well past that now. Toney's team mates are a dozen Saudi farmers and a 35 year old Riyad Mahrez

@ADevineLight People can’t say all the best players are going to Saudi and then say the league is bad. Contradicts the point!

Unpopular opinion: Ivan Toney should 100% be on the plane for England.

St Albans City lost £225k in 24/25 when the club finished 21st in National League South to take total losses to over £2m. Club is propped up by £1.4m of loans, of which over £1.1m comes from the parent company.

@henrywinter Not the only one, but TAA has never had a great game for England. A few 7/10 and a sombrero-full of substandard performances.

Still can’t believe that England are going to the World Cup without arguably their best passer. Watching fringe candidates labour at Wembley highlights even more the nonsense of Alexander-Arnold’s omission. He’s a game-changing option from the bench. If you have pace out wide in Gordon/Rashford and Saka/Madueke/Bowen and want to launch a quick counter, TAA can deliver. If England are in a shoutout, he can deliver. Risk/reward. #ENG

So pleased with that win. Compact in our mid block for the whole game and we didn’t change to a back 5 for the last period of the game! On the ball in the first half we frequently had players dropping from high to low to connect play and attempt to overload the Cardiff press. 2nd half Morley often dropped into the backline with the CB’s split allowing the FB’s to advance. Lots of runs in behind from the half spaces higher up the pitch (led to Vidigal’s goal). Combine frequent runs in behind, Morley’s passing range along with rotations in the structure higher up the pitch and it gave us a great chance to win the game which we did. 4-4-2 mid block for the whole 90 is great to see, not changing to a back 5 shows learning from errors in previous games and Duff continuing to get a better understanding of his team and where they’re at mentally and physically. Onto Saturday!! 💙🦢
