25 maggio 2022 – Che notte magica! Sollevare un trofeo europeo con la maglia della AS Roma e ricevere da voi il riconoscimento di Man of the Match. La parola ‘orgoglio’ non basta a spiegare quello che ho provato. Il rumore e la passione trasmessa dai tifosi quella notte sono stati indescrivibili. Sono convinto che non ci sia al mondo un’altra tifoseria in grado di eguagliare quell’energia. E’ stato un privilegio assoluto vivere questo tipo di passione e incitamento settimana dopo settimana per le ultime 5 stagioni. Al nostro arrivo a Roma nel 2019, io e la mia famiglia siamo stati accolti con gentilezza e calore. Mi avete fatto immediatamente sentire a casa a Roma. Con la nascita di mio figlio, la città avrà per sempre un posto speciale nel mio cuore. Ma tutte le belle storie sono destinate a concludersi e anche per me è giunto il momento di congedarmi. Il mio amore e la mia ammirazione per la AS Roma resteranno per sempre. Ai calciatori con cui ho condiviso spogliatoio e campo, agli allenatori ai cui ordini ho giocato, a tutto lo staff che opera dietro le quinte e il cui lavoro spesso passa inosservato, e a voi tifosi, GRAZIE MILLE: è stato un onore assoluto. To say I was proud would be an understatement. The noise and the passion felt from the fans that night was indescribable. In fact, I’m convinced there is no fan base in the world that could match the energy we felt. It has been an absolute privilege to experience that passion and support week-in week-out for the last 5 seasons. On arriving in Rome in 2019, my family and I were greeted with kindness and warmth. You immediately made Rome feel like home. With the birth of my son, the city will forever hold a special place in my heart. As all great chapters come to an end, it is now time for me to say goodbye. My love and admiration for AS Roma will live on forever. To the players I have played alongside, the coaches I have worked under, the backroom staff who often go unrecognised, and to you, the fans, GRAZIE MILLE, it has been an absolute honour.
