devrel travel looks glamorous from the outside, you see pics like this and think “damn, nice life” but here’s the thing, this job requires you to talk. a lot. workshops, talks, twitter spaces, 1:1s with devs, answering the same questions with the same energy every single time and it only works if you genuinely love it. like actually love explaining how things work to people because if you don’t, you’re just performing enthusiasm for a paycheck. and developers can smell that from a mile away the perks are real. the views are beautiful. but so is the energy it takes to stay “on” when you’re exhausted as uncle ben once told my friend spiderman - with great power comes great responsibility this has to be a passion. otherwise you’re just working to work.

serious question - meta has had so many pivots and crashouts google has all their 'moonshot' nonsense like ppl trying to build giant, frictionless pneumatic tubes to replace public transport has stripe ever had any huge misses? square (block)? feels like the fintechs are batting 100%

@chainyoda hyperliquid giving crypto natives access to oil futures was always going to end exactly like this the leverage was free. the geopolitics was not.

the tradeoff is always liquidity vs sovereignty. cosmos chains win on execution optimization, lose on shared liquidity. ethereum rollups win on capital density, lose on customization hyperliquid didn't win because cosmos. it won because the team was obsessive. the architecture enabled it but didn't cause it

Cosmos architecture has been overall more successful than Ethereum’s rollup centric roadmap. Hyperliquid, Tempo, Canton, Polygon and Bittensor ( the last Mohicans of Polkadot ) all are driving a fairly deep wedge in their focussed domain spaces

@naruto11eth this isn't the future for some people. claude + cursor + infra is already competing with rent in certain cities

If you go to sf and say I am building a “toilet/living room/kitchen/whatever” but for agents”, someone forces a $5m check into your pocket

@EliBenSasson threat 2 is actually the more immediate problem. quantum computers are years away. loss of institutional confidence in unprotected bitcoin is a single headline away

Eli Ben-Sasson | Starknet.io
Quantum computers pose two threats to Bitcoin: Threat 1: A quantum computer will be built and used to break Bitcoin's cryptography. Threat 2: Even before a QC is built, delaying the preparations to ensure Bitcoin is quantum ready will lead to people losing confidence in Bitcoin. The solution to both threats: ensure Bitcoin becomes quantum resistant via initiatives like BIP 360 + make sure the world knows this will be taken care of in time.

@fahmeedx the soul-selling part is usually just doing work you don't believe in for people you don't respect the alternative exists. it's just slower and less guaranteed
