🗣️ Let’s clear up the debate around the losers bracket advantage once and for all.
There’s a lot of talk again about OpTic getting “format cheesed”, so I wanted to see if that holds up historically. I went through every double-elim major tournament in the CDL era and checked how often the losers bracket team actually won.
Spoiler: Even without a bracket reset, the data shows the real edge is coming from winners 👀
🟢 20x - WINNERS bracket team won
🔴 12x - LOSERS bracket team won
That's a ~62.5% Grand Finals win rate for the team coming from winners vs a ~37.5% win rate for the losers bracket team.

@ebroville @isaxced @tipsy_jana Playing a team off a hot close match isnt the same as playing on champs day........for 1 match. Neither team is warmed up. The format problem is for majors.
EWC there is no losers, both teams havent lost.
