1/2 A postdoc is available immediately at Purdue to work in conservation genomics. We have whole genome resequencing data in mammals, birds, herps, and fishes to address conservation and evolutionary questions. Help identify exciting, tractable goals with our ongoing projects.

This past week has been an accumulation of anger and frustration toward my country. I feel sick that many friends, family members and colleagues, of whom I have the deepest love and respect, are unsafe from the police that I, as a white person, was told were here to keep us safe.

Being a first year graduate student is tough enough, but having to navigate through these circumstances can be even more difficult. Luckily, I don’t have to do it alone! S/O to my amazing and talented cohort of biologists for keeping me sane through this time!

Losing count of social distancing days, but at least peanut is better behaved than my other snake, so she comes out to keep me company 😁

New idea for quarantine: impromptu vegetable garden. Take scraps and seeds from various fruits and vegetables you eat and see what grows. 1 plastic container and a household lamp. Keeps you occupied and develops a greater appreciation for the food we are consuming!
