You see the difference between the US and Iran. The US put in a blockade at the Strait of Hormuz and the only punishment for violating it would be capture and detaining of the erring ship. Meanwhile, at Iran's blockade, once any ship violates it, the ship would be set ablaze not minding the fact that most of these ships are civilian vessels.
