NPA scientists used the resazurin dye test today to check the quality of milk kindly donated from staff bases around the school. The challenge to donate out of date milk was embraced by several staff members. @ArdAcadPastoral 😳 now for the disposal 😷

Building atoms today with our new S4. Some subatomic particles mysteriously disappeared before we could use them to help with our nuclide notations. Thankfully the data book was on hand to help

NPA scientists have been testing different samples of milk for the presence of sugar, protein and starch. Protein detected in all of our samples but no sugar in the unsweetened soya milk.

Another colourful lesson with our future S1. We learned about stars and elements and had lots of fun flame testing different metal salts. Copper is beautiful but strontium is still my favourite ❤️

As part of our P7 transition week we learned about the pH scale in science and used indicators and common household substances to make some art. #science #colour #pH

Higher chemists investigating changing the concentration of reactants on the position of an equilibrium using a coloured complex. We all agreed that the visual results helped our understanding. Not everyone agreed on the colour of the test tube on the right #orange #yellow
