Reddit could never possibly function in the way X does where it promotes individual accounts and that's part of the reason it's a lost cause. The mob rule tilts things for the dumbies. You just led by saying "oh just because I vote RED now it's a problem?!?!" and then immediately retreated from that position. All of those accounts give you brain rot and pretending it's a partisan critique — specifically a partisan critique from Nate fucking Silver — is dishonest.

It's really silly to argue that woke didn't kill Hollywood and blame it all on format change. Theatrical had its biggest year in 2019 with $42 billion. TV had record numbers in 2022. People love and need entertainment. We still see huge breakthroughs like Top Gun Maverick (movie) or Knight of Seven Kingdoms (tv). The issue is the generational fumbles that Hollywood spent BILLIONS of dollars on. Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, Little Mermaid aren't just "IP." They are invested BRANDS that are designed to establish loyal customer bases that drive profits for decades. Getting them into theaters or watching streaming is the least of their problems. They are supposed to funnel worldwide interest into theme parks and merchandise where the real money is. The problem is the needs of Wall Street are being mishandled by incompetent managers who are not aligned with the reason they are paid lavish salaries. There is pressure from the CEOs down to the lowest intern to prioritize progressive worldviews to change the barbarians they push their product on, to make the world in the image of the best humans on the planet - themselves. Artists are weird as fuck. I'm weird as fuck. We live in fantasy states of mind and will always push toward unconventional ideas. The brilliant balance of Hollywood is that the executive class has been the check. They are the sober pragmatists that bring artists back to earth and the result has been the most powerful and effective media engine in the world. The issue is we now have a generation of executives who think they are both artist and political activist - "what I really want to do is direct." No, you are not cool. Stop trying to be. You are fucking it all up. Stop competing with us. Go back to the boardroom and be uncool. Be normal. Love you.

You read stories like this and rush to think "what idiot buys something for $65k when it is clearly worthless"? But I think there should be more pressure of these institutions for selling such snake oil. At the very least, some government enforced metric of employment rates per program.
