Wuthering Waves, the only gacha game I played that feels like I'm playing a AAA game and watching an anime movie at the same time

So I may or may not have gotten a customizable model which may or may not mean that Jax debut is officially a-go 👀👀 Obviously it’s not gonna exactly match my design, but for now I think it’s perfect and hopefully in the near future I can afford a custom model 🥹💖

Okay wtf is this @discord ? I can't be the only one who's bothered by that. What is it good for? Except stalking? Who even asked for this feature? Why can't I turn this bs off?! Maybe my community doesn't like that? Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn it off?

On different accounts I actually benefited from taking a break from posting. Although my reason for that was different: Declining engagement, low views etc. I took around 10 days off to see what did good, what didn‘t, why people swiped etc. so I can come up with new ways and produce a few pieces. If your content is doing well and you see that upwards trend I wouldn‘t do that because it would most likely lead to the next shorts not being pushed out as much. But that‘s totally subjective and only my 2 cents. Other people might have different takes on that 🤷‍♂️

I think Im gunna not post shorts this week for the first time in like 2 months. Gunna spend some time clipping and editing to get more than a week of content ready to go instead. Is taking a break like that bad??

Today we suffer. After playing Little Misfortune, My Little Puppy and What Remains of Edith Finch I'm going to play Omori. Can't wait, to see why people recommended it to me so much.

Gotta vent a little. First, the software that built its identity on "free forever, built for streamers" drops a $20-60/month AI tier. Thats a business pivot dressed up as a feature. Sure people need to get paid. But it's something noone asked for. So why not give us something we actually care about? It's not like people aren't requesting meaningful features. I'm not mad at AI existing in general. I'm mad that every software is pivoting into GenAI features nobody asked for but sold as innovation. Spark isn't special. It's Gemini in a nice dress. On that note, the examples (DMCA routing, YouTube clips, Google images) all CONSUME something a human made. GenAI isn't consumption. It's a system built on that work without consent or compensation. Scraping millions of works. You can't even compare that. Apples to oranges really. Side fact: there are active lawsuits against AI companies for exactly this, including code generation without attribution. I'd gladly pay for good software and features people need. Hell, even AI if it has a real benefit like AI based bitrate changes or something like that. I'm tired of paying for GenAI bullshit superglued onto software claiming it's super innovative. Use Spark if you want. Don't pretend it's more than what it is. It won't set you apart from others. Just my 2... 20... 200 cents.

With the release of @StreamWithMeld new Spark update, there is going to be a divide among the community, because each creator chooses where they draw the line in the AI/LLM sand. I see a lot of creators taking a stance on never using a tool like this, and it makes me ask questions. - Do you play music on stream? Are you currently using the VOD track to route audio so you don't get dinged with a DMCA? Do you consider monetizing content using assets you're not licensed for to be stealing, or do you consider that $10/month for spotify almighty absolver of guilt? - I also assume you've never used a mp3 or mp4 downloader for YouTube, whether it was to grab a scene, sound effect, funny clip, etc. etc. Is that different? - You also don't watch YouTube videos on stream then, correct? How do you differentiate? Is it "fair use" to watch videos from beginning to end, using that content to monetize your own? - If you're against how spark works - does that mean your streaming app canvas is completely void of any images from Google? Any screenshots of things you've found on the web? I assume all your visual assets have either been sourced by artists, or created from scratch. I'm sure at some point you needed an image for a background or a wallpaper for stream or for a youtube video. Whats easy? Go to google, search for "colorful polygon wallpaper" and use it. If instead of that, I ask claude to create that wallpaper instead. Is that the same? Why not? I always see the argument "well it's just background music, it's not the whole stream and the reason for the content..." Look, at the end of the day, if the music wasn't providing you some kind of value, you wouldn't be using it. - I think you have to be naive to think that the artists or developers you purchase assets from are NOT using any LLM tools to help them do their job. And I'm not specifically talking about using generative-AI for art. I just mean using any kind of LLM tools helping out with certain parts of workflow. How do you vet that? Are you asking every merchant how their assets are created? The plugins for OBS you're using - are they all free of vibe coding or code agent workflows? These questions make me look inward as well. > Have I ever used generative AI to create me a visual asset like a Notion header, or a wallpaper for my PC? Absolutely. Have I ever shared those assets with anyone, especially people that have asked for my wallpapers? Never. > Have I ever used AI to write me a script for a video? Never. Have I written a script for a video, and used an AI tool to go over it, clean it up, provide suggestions for edits? Yep. > There are many tools out there especially for short form content that just scrape the top performing videos, pull the script, and reword it so you can just read the script and post to cash in on the views. Never would I do that. But would I look at the data of the video to see why it performed that way and try to apply it to my own? Absolutely. I'm not going to tell you where to draw your line in the sand, rather just take a look at all the aspects of creating content and be honest about how you acquire all the things you use for creating said content before you cast a stone. Because don't tell me you'll never use spark because reasons and then edit with CapCut. oh and Spark is optional. Use it or don't, you Meld Studio will work the same if you don't.

@ChiiFett It seems like it doesn't generate Images but "just" recreates images (it was clearly trained on) using code - i assume. An even cheaper way to screw over artists.

So instead of things like basic stinger transitions or a reactive image feature we got hot garbage AI slop that no one asked for. Disappointing. I will be sticking with OBS for sure now. Too bad Meld…. I had high hopes for this software.

Meld Studio has finally announced its new feature, Spark, and after spending some time with it... I understand why the lead-up to its announcement was kept a secret. It's generative AI. That's the big reveal. They have created a way to destroy the creative ecosystem. Not only that, but like all generative AI, it is trained on IP that it does not have the rights to. How do I know this? Well, I've recorded a few examples found above: First, a Sub Overlay (Sound Element was created in Meld by Spark) Second, a Chat Widget (sound element was corrupted. Added my own) Third, a Follow Overlay (sound element was corrupted. Added my own) The prompt was to create these three elements using a classic Final Fantasy 7 aesthetic, both in sound and visuals. Each fully formed element was created in 30-40 seconds. Full disclosure: the Chat Widget sound and the Follow Sound were implemented by me because the sound they produced was unusable. However, the Sub Overlay Sound is what I want you to really pay attention to. Now, if Spark is not trained on or pulling from an IP that it does not have the rights to, how does it generate this? Sure, the leveling fanfare with the Sub Overlay isn't the exact composition, but it clearly knows the correct fanfare in order to change the notes to protect against copyright while still giving you the feel of Final Fantasy fanfare. Is it easy to use? Yes. Is it soulless? Also, yes. Meld Studio's Spark is a feature designed for people who don't want to put in the work of being a Content Creator and feel completely okay stepping on the backs of countless artists in this industry... that it clearly has been trained on. (There are pre-loaded chat widgets that look incredibly similar to popular widgets sold on Etsy.) That's not what being a creator is. Sure, you can have overlays and cool effects play during events, but Spark is not going to teach you comedic timing. Spark is not going to give you the gift of gab and hold the attention of a large group of people for 5+ hours. You're just playing dress-up and wearing the uniform of a creator expecting success. They say that Spark is going to change the game, but in reality, all it really does is separate the true creators and artists who work with them from the pretenders who feel like they don't need to pay their dues. Still, I'd like to thank Meld Studio for giving me an early preview of the feature. As disappointing as it was, it was eye-opening to see an open disregard for the ecosystem of streaming in exchange for personal profit.
