Historic MOU Signed Between Hong Kong China Cricket & Kuwait Cricket at ICC Annual Conference in Singapore July 21, 2025 — In a landmark moment for Associate cricket development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Hong Kong China Cricket and Kuwait Cricket during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Singapore. This historic alliance is set to deepen bilateral cricketing ties and promote collaboration across men's, women's, and youth cricket pathways. The official signing ceremony was graced by leading officials from both boards, including Mr. Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Hong Kong China Cricket; Mr. Anuraag Bhatnagar, Director – Commercial & Marketing of Hong Kong China Cricket; Mr. Anoop Gidwani, Independent Director of Hong Kong China Cricket; Mr. Haider Farman, President of Kuwait Cricket; Mr. Emad Al Jassam, General Secretary of Kuwait Cricket; and Mr. Sajid Ashraf, Director General of Kuwait Cricket. As part of this strategic alliance, both boards announced plans to host regular bilateral series (men’s & women’s) in Kuwait and Hong Kong China. These matches will be played under the banner of the Bauhinia-Falcon Trophy, a name that pays tribute to the fierce and spirited rivalry shared between the two teams in recent years. This MoU reflects a shared commitment to elevate Associate cricket through structured collaboration, competitive opportunities, and a joint vision of global cricketing progress. 🏏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇳🇵 Nepal’s One-Wicket Win Wasn’t a Shock, It Was a Statement Associate cricket is not a charity case or a sideshow, it is a fire lit under the complacency of the game's establishment. What happened today @the_forfs, Nepal’s stunning one-wicket win over @CricketScotland, sealed in chaos, in tension, in wild, beating-heart theatre, was no accident. The scorecard will show a wide ball and a runout that did not count. It will mention Karan KC’s 65 not out from number nine, but it cannot account for the spirit that drove it. That does not come from central contracts or packed stadiums. It comes from meaning. Every match, every run, every wicket means everything for these sides. There are no dead rubbers in Associate cricket, only battles fought on the edge of survival and recognition. @CricketNep's rise is not a story of overnight triumph. It is a tale of relentless devotion, fans climbing trees just to watch, a national team now coached by Stuart Law, and a squad forged in T20 leagues and hardened in the shadows of Test nations. These cricketers do not just play the game; they carry it. The @ICC’s league structures have given these teams a precious commodity, regular cricket. But access does not guarantee equality. Associate players are still under-scouted, under-selected, and underplayed in the world’s premier franchise tournaments. A @BrandoMcMullen4 or a @DSAiree45 could walk into most squads. Yet the doors remain largely shut. Until they are opened, Associate cricket remains a rebellion with cause. And what of the women? Scotland’s @Kathryn_Bryce was the player of the tournament at the World Cup qualifier. Yet Scotland have no fixtures in the diary. This is the price of being excellent outside the establishment, a pat on the back and a calendar of empty months. Today was not just Nepal winning a cricket match. It was a nation showing it belongs. It was proof that Associate cricket is not the future, it is the present, and it is glorious. The sport does not need to save Associate cricket. Associate cricket just might save the sport.
