$DOTA was built from first principles to be entirely played by API. To read the game state a simple GET call, and to make moves simple POST calls
This makes it extremely easy for AI agents to integrate. People have taken it one step further and even started parsing the websocket used on our front end for more granular play. There are some very sophisticated bots with 60-70% WR playing extremely optimally
To make a game a good candidate to be played by AI agents, it must be simple but also competitive. And it shouldn't be something incredibly big brain like Chess or Go, because that makes the barrier to entry too high

- Towers buffed in an attempt to reduce deathballing mid which can end the game very early (or give too strong of an advantage to one team)
- User noted Humans have slight advantage because new players spawn there first, so made it 50/50
