What the Iranian opposition, especially monarchists, are not telling you is that the Israeli airstrikes in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and other cities have resulted in large numbers of civilian casualties. It is estimated that, each day, nearly 1,000 civilians have been killed. When they target a regime official, they often destroy almost an entire neighborhood. For example, when they eliminated Khatib, they struck his apartment building in Zafaranieh, in northern Tehran, but many nearby buildings were also destroyed, and the people inside were killed. I’m going to say this clearly. My role, as an Iranian in the diaspora, is to amplify the suppressed voices inside Iran. If they say “we need help,” I’m saying “we need help.” If they say “keep the strikes coming,” I’m saying “keep the strikes coming.” If they say “stop the war,” I’m staying “stop the war.” It’s really that simple. So if you hate my voice, you hate their voice. And if you can’t stand the voices of those living the experience, then you’re probably prioritizing your narrative over truth.
