Exactly my point. If he was that good and nobody was at his level why was it Yashin and not him? Was he really that good? Was he better than Van Der Sar or Cech or Buffon? I doubt it. If you are a level above this level you will inevitably be immortalised one way or the other. What has England or the FA named after him that is relevant today if he was that higher level?

Poor ball knowledge? I doubt it. He will obviously be popular in England and because he was not outside doing a lot the rest of the world can't really remember him. We remember Schmeichel, Lev Yashim, the crazy goalkeeper Rene Higuita, Barthez, Tafarel, or so Chilavet and Oliver Kahn. The people of his era got popular in the current era by being active and having things in sport named after them.
