In Science, we continued to learn about the four seasons. This week, we focused on summer and autumn. We compared the daylight hours in each season and we discovered that the season summer has longer daylight hours because it is lighter for longer. #BeckScience

This week in history, we created our own timeline! We ordered events to show when different significant figures were born and when they died. After, we wrote down facts about each significant individual. #BeckHistory

Yesterday in DT, we started to make our moon buggies. We measured our dowel and then cut it using a saw. After, we cut out our net and stuck it together. #BeckDT

Today in PSHE, we had a brilliant conversation about how we can stay safe online. The children came up with some fantastic rules and advice on how to stay safe online. #BeckPSHE #BeckComputing

Y2 had a fantastic outcome this afternoon! The children presented their animal sculptures to parents and explained how they had adapted their animal to survive in a particular habitat. #BeckArt #BeckSciene

We had lots of fun today in our Science lesson finding different mini-beasts in their micro-habitats. We then put our results into a tally chart to show how many mini-beasts we found on the playground! #BeckScience #BeckLOtC

We had a fantastic time today at Yorkshire Wildlife Park! We saw lots of different animals including monkeys, giraffes and lions! We even saw some realistic sculptures of different dinosaurs!! #BeckLOtC #BeckScience

Today in English, Year 2 were looking at the features of a diary entry. We used post- it notes to help us identify the features in our model text.

Today in art, we started to plan an animal to make into a sculpture. The animal we designed had to live and survive in a specific habitat e.g. grassland, desert, polar, rainforest or ocean. #BeckArt #BeckScience

Last week in PSHE, we looked at how we could stay safe within our households. We decided if a situation was safe or unsafe. When it was unsafe, we discussed how we could keep ourselves safe to avoid being in danger. #BeckPSHE

This week in Science, we started to learn about habitats and what they are. We focused on two different habitats including polar and ocean habitats. The children learnt what animals lived in each of the habitats and how the animals adapted so they could survive. #BeckScience

In RE, we learnt about the story 'The Good Samaritan'. We discussed what the message of the story was for Christians and we drew a picture of an important part from the story. #BeckRE

Today in maths, we were finding different ways to make the same amount using different coins. #BeckMaths

This week in English, we have been writing character descriptions about Mr and Mrs Twit from the Roald Dahl story 'The Twits'. We have written some fantastic descriptions using expanded noun phrases and different conjunctions! #BeckEnglish #BeckWriting

Yesterday in DT, we made our animal enclosures that we had designed. We had to ensure the animal enclosures were freestanding so we used lots of skills to ensure the enclosure could stand on its own. #BeckDT

For our 10 minute art activities, we have continued to make stronger, bolder drawings! This week, we drew onto a map and we tried really hard to make sure our drawings stood out. #BeckArt
