Maybe it's just me, but what exactly is Microsoft trying to achieve with these changes? And why didn’t they think of this before releasing Windows 11 in the first place? They always seem to be playing catch-up with design improvements and features that actually benefit users. Years later and we’re still dealing with the same bugs, clunky menus, and broken functionality… even basic things like missing drivers. They should really take some lessons from Apple. (not a windows user for the past 5 years. before that from win 95).

Microsoft has started rebuilding the Windows 11 Start menu from scratch with WinUI 3. Expect noticeably quicker loading times and truly instant search results in the new design. The menu will also let you freely resize it between compact and expanded views by dragging the edges, and you’ll be able to hide whole sections like Pinned, Recommended, or the full All apps list whenever you want. These updates finally respond to years of user feedback about the current version’s stiff layout and lack of real customization options.

After talking with Blizzard’s lawyers, they agreed to stop everything by May 14, 2026. The servers will stay open until that date. You can still play your characters on realms like Frostmourne, Sheilun, and Netherwing. No new accounts or updates will be added. After May 14, the website and Discord will close too. This comes right after Blizzard won a court case against another big private server called TurtleWoW. Stormforge ran for more than four years. For many players, this is the end of a fun chapter in World of Warcraft.
