Writing five #books didn’t just give me five covers to put on a shelf. It rewired who I am, how I think, and what I believe is possible. One #book changes one’s identity. Five books change one’s trajectory. I am grateful to every #reader #writer #author #writing #newbook #library

> be us, Indian revolutionaries in 1914. > WWI breaks out. Our core philosophy: 'Britain's difficulty is India's opportunity.' > We are no longer limited to throwing crude bombs at magistrates in Bengal. We are playing high-stakes, trans-continental geopolitics. > Enter Jatindranath Mukherjee, universally known as 'Bagha Jatin' (The Bengal Tiger). > rewind to 1912: Jatin literally holds a secret meeting with the German Crown Prince in Calcutta. > pitches a massive, synchronised armed insurrection to overthrow the British Raj. > The Kaiser's heir is impressed. Says 'Done. We will supply the arms and the funds.' > 1914: The 'Hindu-German Conspiracy' is officially born. > The network we build is absolute madness. The Ghadar Party in San Francisco, Jugantar in Bengal, the India House in London, and the Indian Independence Committee in Berlin. > The grand strategy? The Zimmermann Plan. A synchronised Pan-Indian mutiny stretching from Lahore to Bengal to Singapore, backed by German arms and Ottoman Turkish alliances. (Armada & The Arsenal) > The maritime arms smuggling operation is set in motion. > The German Vice Consul in San Francisco funds the purchase of 30,000 rifles and 4 million cartridges. > The arsenal is loaded onto a US schooner, the Annie Larsen. > She is ordered to rendezvous with another ship, the SS Maverick, off the remote coast of Mexico at Socorro Island. > The Maverick is supposed to hide the guns in empty oil tanks, sail to the Dutch East Indies (Batavia/Java), and then drop the arsenal at Rai Mangal in the Sundarbans and the Balasore coast. > to receive this massive loot, we set up corporate front companies: 'Harry & Sons' in Calcutta and 'Universal Emporium' in Balasore. > M.N. Roy (operating under the alias P.N. Tagore) is globetrotting across Java, China, and Japan to coordinate the logistics with German consuls. > British Intelligence is utterly terrified. They cast a massive, desperate global dragnet spanning from Singapore to San Francisco just to hunt us down. (Pan-Asian Mutiny & The Kabul Government): > Feb 1915: The Punjab mutiny is set. We infiltrate the 36th Sikh Battalion and garrisons across the North. > Dec 1915: We go a step further and establish the first Provisional Government of Free India in Kabul. > Raja Mahendra Pratap as President, Maulana Barkatullah as PM. > the plan: March 20,000 German-Turkish troops through the Afghan frontier to crush the British North-West. (Judas & The Last Stand): > but every epic has its Judas. > Kirpal Singh, a CID mole, infiltrates the Ghadarites in Punjab and leaks the mutiny date. > The British aggressively preempt the uprising. Hangings, executions, and the Cellular Jail (Kala Pani) for everyone. > only the 5th Light Infantry in Singapore successfully revolted, holding out for a bloody week before being massacred by a coalition of British, French, and Japanese troops. > out at sea, absolute disaster strikes. Poor coordination means the Maverick and Annie Larsen miss each other at Socorro Island. > US Customs seizes the Annie Larsen. The 30,000 rifles never reach Bengal. (Balasore Firefight: Sept 1915): > Bagha Jatin is waiting in the forests of Balasore (Odisha) for German ships that will never arrive. > British intelligence (led by the infamous Charles Tegart) intercepts our Batavia cables. > they surround Jatin and his four boys (Chittapriya, Manoranjan, Niren, Jotish). > An epic two-hour firefight ensues. > five Indian boys armed with basic German Mauser pistols holding off a highly equipped regiment of the British Raj. > Chittapriya dies on the spot. Jatin takes fatal bullets, dying days later in a hospital, refusing British treatment. (Global Trial) > 1917: The Americans enter WWI. To appease London, they round up our Ghadarite boys in San Francisco. > The 'Hindu-German Conspiracy Trial' begins - it becomes the longest and most expensive trial in US history at the time. > The British desperately want our boys deported to India to be executed. > Instead, we turn the US courtroom into a geopolitical stage, fiercely quoting the American Revolution to justify our armed war against London. (Legacy) > We lost the battle. The network was shattered, and our greatest minds were martyred. > but the blueprint was drawn in blood. > exactly 30 years later, another Bengali revolutionary would follow our exact footsteps to Germany and Japan to raise a liberation army. > Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose didn't invent the Axis strategy. He perfected the master plan we started in 1915.

Pahalgam. One year. The pain hasn’t faded, it never will. Innocent lives. Stolen. Brutally. Senselessly. We remember every face, every name, every family shattered by an act of pure evil. You are not forgotten. You will never be forgotten. 🕯️ #Pahalgam #NeverForget

On #CivilServicesDay, I am reminded that the service has shaped me as a person as much as it has shaped my work. It teaches us that service is a calling, but also a discipline that must be practiced every single day. The values of integrity, humility, and public purpose are habits we must live by. Grateful to all civil servants, my peers, and the future leaders of tomorrow, who continue to strive to make a positive difference for their counry.
