No. Im pretty specific on the government program. You just try to deflect and make it racist. I also dont think we should give OHP plus to individuals just based on “low income” regardless of their assets or resources. Did you know that? Medicaid for people who own their home or have millions in their 401k or bank? Rich people who dont work shouldnt get low income OHP. It also helps those able body adult who work under the table and dont pay taxes. Working Oregonians who have no assets or resources don’t qualify.

Also, there are about 100,000 people enrolled in Healthier Oregon (the healthcare plan is specifically for those who don’t qualify for Medicaid due to immigration status) and 1.4 million on OHP. That 100,000 includes undocumented immigrants, DACA recipients, green card holders (in their first 5 years) and some visa holders. There is zero evidence whatsoever that these people don’t pay taxes, many of them do through an ITIN. They will get care anyway, it’s better to cover them efficiently than pay full price for their emergency care which does get passed onto taxpayers through higher rates to private insurers which then gets passed to the insured through higher health insurance premiums. Uncompensated care in the US is tens of billions every year bc the uninsured are charged full price on everything. Programs like Healthier Oregon get massive rate cuts so although taxpayers are paying for their health insurance, it’s far less than it would be if they got care without insurance.

All states have business taxes, but they don’t get passed through 1:1. A sales tax hits consumers directly, business taxes get split between prices, wages, and profits. That’s not the same thing. Consumers pay far less in Oregon than states like Washington or California with sales tax. High earners get hit the hardest in Oregon, but if you’re a middle income household, you are in a much better position in Oregon.

This just says immigrants. The post I made is specifically talking about undocumented getting full healthcare. Yes, immigrants who work are great addition of society. It’s the American spirit of immigration and making it. Except back then they didn’t have a bloated bureaucracy taxing productivity to giving it to those who dont contribute. Illegals healthcare shouldn’t take priority of our roads or education. When did we ever vote to make that large of an expensive?

Why can you get full OHP plus (MAGI), just for having no income; even if you own your house or have a million in the bank. There is no asset/resource limit. Healthy working age adults just work under the table and you give them everything. The workers who follow the rules just get taxes and dont even get OHP. We also have money for education and ODOT; but we are paying for full OHP for illegals out of state funds. We didn’t vote for that. You answer is also more taxes.
