West Bengal Cyber Crime Wing

An information was brought to our notice through an 'X' post this afternoon, drawing attention to two individuals ostensibly from Kashmir, living at an address in Baruipur with a high-performance wireless network system installed on the rooftop. The input was immediately verified locally. In reality, the two individuals, one of them a Hindu and the other a Muslim, both from Madhya Pradesh, rented a flat in Baruipur about three weeks ago. Engineers by profession, they were exploring business opportunities in pisciculture in West Bengal through a local friend. There is a simple Jiofibre network in their flat as is used by numerous citizens, with nothing suspicious about it. It is unfortunate that some people choose to disseminate such inaccurate and potentially inciteful information through social media, instead of communicating it to a state or central agency. We expect citizens to exercise restraint and responsibility while using public platforms without jumping to any conclusions. All citizens are encouraged to share any information of any suspicious activity, but not through social media posts. Information of this kind shared through social media handles defeats the very purpose. It also merits mention that any kind of public insinuation against any individual without verifying the facts is legally punishable.

সবার কাছে আবেদন সব ধর্মের সকল মানুষের কাছে আমার একান্ত আবেদন, আপনারা দয়া করে শান্ত থাকুন, সংযত থাকুন। ধর্মের নামে কোনো অ-ধার্মিক আচরণ করবেন না। প্রত্যেক মানুষের প্রাণই মূল্যবান, রাজনীতির স্বার্থে দাঙ্গা লাগাবেন না। দাঙ্গা যারা করছেন তারা সমাজের ক্ষতি করছেন। মনে রাখবেন, যে আইনের বিরুদ্ধে অনেকে উত্তেজিত, সেই আইনটি কিন্তু আমরা করিনি। আইনটি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার করেছে। তাই উত্তর যা চাওয়ার কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছে চাইতে হবে। আমরা এ বিষয়ে আমাদের বক্তব্য সুস্পষ্টভাবে বলেছি - আমরা এই আইনকে সমর্থন করিনা। এই আইন আমাদের রাজ্যে লাগুও হবে না। তাহলে দাঙ্গা কিসের? আরো মনে রাখবেন, দাঙ্গায় যারা উস্কানি দিচ্ছেন তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা আমরা নেবো। কোনো হিংসাত্মক কার্যকলাপকে আমরা প্রশ্রয় দিই না। কিছু রাজনৈতিক দল ধর্মকে অপব্যবহার করে রাজনৈতিক সুবিধা নিতে চাইছেন। তাদের প্ররোচনায় পা দেবেন না। আমি মনে করি, ধর্ম মানে মানবিকতা, সহৃদয়তা, সভ্যতা ও সম্প্রীতি। সকলে শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখুন - এই আমার আবেদন।
