@A_Thomas_Bolduc @AidanMcGlynn @RrrichardZach A license says what someone can do with a copyrighted item. They are related but different things. You license -for example with CC - what's allowed with a copyrighted work. Owner can create multiple licenses to meet different needs.

@AidanMcGlynn A license says what folks can automatically do - you can allow additional uses if people contact you and get permission. So the question for you as copyright holder - what do you want people to be able to do with this item?

This includes information on governance and other items beyond finances. Charities have to meet many additional state requirements. It’s highly regulated

Most charities are small and staff are woefully underpaid. There are some bad actors too - so people should do their homework before donating.

They can sell products and services - for example a symphony can sell tickets and a museum can charge admission. There are hundreds of ways to become informed about charity rules - why don’t you try one?

@MaryKateMcKenn2 @imthechimechild @CherylinAshland @0liviajulianna A charity is not a corporation, there's nothing "proprietary/confidential" or trade secrets a charity should worry about. If you want to receive public donations/pay no tax, then you should open your books. If you want to keep your books closed, pay taxes then.

This weekend marks the 35th anniversary of the beginning of the quilt - which now has over 30,000 panels.

An incredible amount of time and love went into all of the hand made panels

3000 panels of AIDS memorial quilt on display in Golden Gate Park this weekend. Beautiful, moving, important.
