7.5/10 ⭐️ Incredible performance considering how short a period he has been at Hearts. An assist on his debut partnered with an all round performance. Dogged in midfield against a good standard of opponent. Would love to see him have a league winners medal round his neck come May.

A player I had shortlisted for #CCFC when rumours started to surface about Turnbull potentially going to Hearts. Thinking if Cardiff get promoted that Leonard would be a great signing to add tenacity in the middle. A player who does the hard graft in midfield, isn't shy at disrupting play and also has the ability to carry the ball. Would be a great supplement to Wintle with both players being solid passers! Hoping as reported that this is a loan until end of the season which would then allow Cardiff to dip back in once he has had more minutes/fitness under his belt... 👀

@eflpublished @FootballLeagueW Could be an excellent signing for Cardiff... brings pace and energy that they'll need for the second half of this season! Proper livewire of a player that offers something slightly different out left that they don't currently have in Willock

Kelly N'Mai - Salford City - 21yo ⚽️7 goals / 🅰️ 3 assists in all competitions 💡1.63 chances created p90 🎯1.08 successful crosses p90 👣51.3 Touches p90 ⚡️1.93 successful dribbles p90 👣7.41 touches in opposition box p90 With his contract at Salford City running out this summer it is no surprise clubs are interested in Kelly N’Mai. His pace and ball control make him a real live wire and his positional versatility is excellent. His goal and assist vs Barrow earlier in the month were a great showcase of his abilities. His goal especially, showing his comfort with both feet whilst driving at pace, and controlled, towards defenders.

@youngy84 @KaiGWatson If DN is available to buy in this window due to his contract having 6 months left, Rangers would be daft not to sign him up. If he didn't make an impact this season as you suggest (I disagree) he would definitely thrive next season once he's more settled. Time will tell 🙌

@CSO_Analysis @KaiGWatson In all truth, the chances are heavily against them, regardless of whatever anyone on twitter thinks. It usually takes 2/3 months for any player to adapt to playing for rangers. I would be absolutely amazed if they came in and made an impact, very few do.

Dan Neil can handle the pressure and expectations of a huge club which will help him at Rangers. Mundle is further along in his maturation process so can see him adapting a lot better to the demands of scottish football. Finally, I've had the pleasure of watching them both for years now

@scotsunsport Have no doubts he will score goals in this Celtic side however all this does is further cement the feeling that Celtic's recruitment strategy is abysmal. No succession planning is evident at the minute...

Yacine Titraoui - Royal Charleroi - 22yo A seriously well rounded and consistent defensive midfielder who is ready for the next step in his career. His vast array of passing is a defining element of his profile. Pair his passing with his natural calmness whilst being pressed, not only helps progress the ball forward but also provides RCSC with a stable base on which to build from. At the top end of the pitch, he is selective with his shooting opportunities the majority of which (17/25) originate from outside the box. When in attack Titraoui anchors at the top of the D and can be seen to make intelligent late runs into the opposing box when required. In my opinion Titraoui would be suitable for the English Championship. With age on his side I’m looking forward to tracking his development over the next few seasons. 🎯4.04 Accurate Long Balls p90 🎯 85% Pass Accuracy 💪 5.96 Recoveries p90 🚫 1.57 Interceptions p90 #RCSC

A really insightful breakdown of ‘xG’ and ‘Big Chances Created’ that for me, is helpful in addressing points always raised when chatting to people about xG and how important it either is or isn’t when reviewing a teams attacking output. Firstly it’s usually people who are not overly familiar with what xG is and how it is calculated, swiftly followed up by a throw away comment that “teams can’t score 0.82 of a goal can they?!”. I like how this qualm is covered indirectly by the anecdote of 1,500 chances vs 150 chances. The end value of xG is the same however the journey to reach that is drastically different, with the key difference being the quality of the 150 chances being much higher. It highlights how xG value accumulation over the course of time can add up to rounded amounts. Whether it be chances worth 0.5 or 0.05. Interested to hear other peoples thoughts on this? A great example of data content I really enjoy reading! 📊⚽️
Spencer Mossman@fc_mossman

I see lots of discussion around xG vs. big chances created, and I want to set the record straight: xG is objectively a better measure than big chances created for measuring attacking effectiveness. why? by definition, it provides more of a complete picture. xG and BCC are stupidly highly correlated - 93.2% of the variance between one can be explained by the other. This makes sense... bcc = chances created with an xG that is X value or higher, so for starters, the one metric is based on the other. Also, since bcc needs to be >= x value, opportunities that are "bcc" will take up most of the total xG pool. When you compare BCC and xG to goals for; both are extremely predictive, with xG getting the slight edge. Again, why? Because low xG, non-BCC chances can turn into goals too. It literally captures more of the picture. So, obviously the goal is to have many big chances created, because that just means higher expected goal tallies. But is it better, over a full season, to have 75 xG from 1,500 chances (all being 0.05 xG), or 75 xG from 150 chances (all 0.50 xG). Answer: there is no difference, as the probability you will score 75 goals is the exact same for both instances. 75 pounds of bricks fall at the same speed as 75 pounds of feathers. The difference lies in how you will see those 100 goals manifest... more steady, predictable conversion from the 0.50 xG chances (more games w/ 1-2 goals), and much wider swings from the 0.05 xG strategy (more games w/ 0 goals, but also more games with 4-5 goals). BCC is a great stat for looking at chance quality, but in the long run, xG simply matters more than BCC, because it includes all of what BCC illustrates, and adds even more color.

A player I don't think United can afford to lose, especially if they are insistent on 3 at the back. Can be a bit rogue at times (few wild goal attempts recently, and lunges into tackles at times 😂) however his defensive numbers and ball carrying would be hard to replace imo Got to hope this is just his agent trying to force united into higher wages..

No drama 🙌 Yeah you could be right re correlation, just can't help but feel the recent set up from United maybe drew more attention to Kuch's weaknesses (albeit he did a pretty good job of that himself 😂). Pulled off some great saves but yes, 100% agree he was in the wrong movie!

@CSO_Analysis @HitTheByline Apologies, misread your first sentence. Not sure I agree that those 2 factors are related tho - simply Kuch is a GK not able to deal with crosses and regardless of JG tactics, that's something he'd encounter a lot in Scotland. He was just in the wrong movie up here.

When Kucharenko first signed and I went to watch his competitive debut against Strassen, I was actually fairly impressed with him and that continued into the game against Rapid Wien. I knew he would take risks, that would likely cost his team goals. In-turn he would also prevent a lot of goals, which was the case at the start of the season. This started to fade though and the mistakes were no longer being outweighed by the goals prevented. I can’t say I’m shocked at his departure. Dundee Utd don’t need a risk-taking, ball-playing goalkeeper necessarily, just a goalkeeper that is an outright shot-stopper, which Kucharenko isn’t.

Nobody has said that United's style of play caused him to make errors, Dougie. However I believe his errors have led to a change in approach from JG in an attempt to get points on the board. That approach does not play to Kuch's strengths. Add in to the mix his errors and clear lack of confidence, this transfer is best for all parties.
